Question from a fat man about belt-wearing for over-the-belly pants

I'm a fat man, and I wear exclusively pants big enough to fit around my belly with suspenders.

I'm trying to get away from suspenders - but every time I use a belt on over-the-belly pants, they always seem at danger of falling down.

How should I wear a belt on those pants so they aren't at danger of falling down?

How was it not until 1929 that a White House cabinet member was sent to jail for a crime committed in office?

Reading about the Teapot Dome scandal: How in the world did no White House cabinet member go to jail for a crime committed in office until Albert Fall in 19-freaking-29?? It's politics! Politics is corruption! If anyone has any context about this, I'd love to hear it :)

A question about Vance Boelter's sentence for killing Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband

So Vance Boelter has officially been sentenced to two life sentences plus 40 years for the murder of Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, as well as for critically wounding state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife.

As someone who doesn't know much about the law: What is the point of giving someone more than one life sentence? Does it have any other effects besides determining the length of the sentence?

Songs where the harmony is more memorable/hummable than the melody?

What songs can you think of where the harmony is more memorable/hummable/catchier than the actual melody? One example: "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits ("We've got to install microwave ovens / Custom-kitchen deliveries...")

A question from someone who’s shy: Pointers on the art of having a good-sized conversation with another person?

I'm a very shy, introverted person. I don't really talk to people, have a hard time with what to even say to people, and that's caused a lot of problems for me socially. It’s become a problem also in that I don't have real connections with people at work: I get to the end of a day, and find I haven't really talked to anyone I work with. You might say, I suffer from the Male Loneliness Epidemic. (As opposed to when you have a huge pile of unopened mail, which is the Mail Loneliness Epidemic.)

I want to develop the art of having consistant, long-ish conversations with other people: I was wondering, any pointers or suggestions? It would be much appreciated.

I've heard, Well, ask people questions, ask people about themselves, people like talking about themselves - but I end up being tongue-tied after I ask them something. Like, I'll ask a question, they'll answer it, and I'll say, Cool. I don't know what else to say! I guess what it comes down to is, Does anyone have suggestions on how to hold a conversation that doesn't just end with, Question, Answer, "Cool."?

Troubleshooting: I can't access my YouTube account on the YouTube app on my phone because it falsely says the account is suspended

I can't access my YouTube account on the YouTube app on my phone, because it says the accoutn has been suspended. The account has not been suspended, however, as it is still perfectly accessible on both my laptop and even the YouTube Music app on my phone.

Anyone have troubles like this?

Question: How do you critique basslines?

All right, I'm about to give one of my more plebian takes: I don't know how to critique basslines. As in, I don't know what makes a bassline good or bad or Great, I don't know what I'm looking for.

In your opinion, what makes a capital-G Great bassline Great?

Today in Albums That Exists: "Der Führer: Rock Opera" (1977)

Because everybody has to know about this thing I found:

In 1977, Hamburg composers Walter Quintus and Lothar Siems, and lyricist Gisela Siems, clearly inspired by Jesus Christ Superstar and Tommy, put out a rock opera about Adolf Hitler.

Two things:

One: No, this is not a pro-Nazi record, don't worry about that at all

and

Two: The parts I've heard... surprisingly don't suck.

(Unfortunately, only the first side of Record A is available on YouTube, but I must inform as many people as I can about this album that exists.)
