If you could say a few words to your trainer, what would you say?

My trainer was actually nice, but they hid a lot from my training class. First week of calls felt like fire baptism.

I'd probably say something like "you never told me i would be running a daycare for adults"

On boarding hunger games

Sometimes I feel tempted to reach out to our new recruits and tell them "these next few months are going to hurt", "don't believe the corporate slop", "the talks about being supported are nonsense".

But for obvious reasons, I don't. We also need more people, so it would be counterintuitive.

The funniest is when the recruits quit on the first few days/barely make it to the last week of training.

Also the week/month after new recruits start taking calls, can be very testing. The trainers never drill them properly on what they actual experience will be like and they'll be learning on the fly like my training partners and I did. There will be a lot of mistakes and customers coming for our throats.

The trainers hide a lot from the new recruits because if they truly showed even what half of the experience would be like, there would be no one to train.

It's a weird feeling seeing the trainees and just thinking "if only they knew"

How is everyone's Monday going so far?

I called off yet again, I'll gladly take the attendance hit.

I just know that queue will be super packed, I'm really not in the mood for Monday nonsense.

Early mornings are a mixed bag

I typically work the super late/early times and it's usually low volume (I'm trading off my sleep and sanity for low call volume, but still worth it imo) but the calls are a lot more intense when they come in.

I had this boomer call in, 6 times in a row for the same issue, he ruined what was supposed to be a chill morning.

This was at 2am btw, keep in mind. I remember someone said something about first call resolution and I'm happy my cc doesn't do that metrics, because he would've tanked my stats.

Keep in mind also, we resolved the issue on the first call. I'm a lot more antsy during night and early morning shifts, I'm surprised that I held my cool.

I also had another caller who didn't really have any issues, was just bored and called in to ramble. I also hate when I have to tell them professionally to "get to the point" and they start crying about "not being listened to". Like, you don't understand the metrics we have to deal with, you're a stat killer.

My company is full of pretenders

My company is filled with fake people (I'm not referring to regular agents btw, just higher ups), our ceo platforms the company as being this progressive, worker friendly, flexible, and welcoming place, but it's all a facade.

The supervisors and team leads are all pretenders and gaslighters. I thought my direct supervisor was even half a decent human, but turns out I was wrong.

The corporate life is never for me, how do people pretend and lie with a straight face? Don't you feel off? Doesn't it stress you?

Can't believe I would've ever missed my old kitchen job.

Ever verify info, and the customer says you're wrong, only for them to repeat exactly what you said

Ever repeat back information to a caller, and they say you're wrong, only for them to say exactly what you said, lol.

I resist the urge to smirk and say, "That's literally what I said."

Also, had this woman get mad because i asked if she lived in an apartment. It's almost like she took offense at the idea of her living in an apartment.

I am so mentally drained, I want out

I am losing my f"g mind, I feel so trapped. I really want to leave this bs, but can't afford to. This has to be the worst feeling ever. The initial dopamine from the paychecks when I started, has totally worn off, I want out.

I've applied to so many places and haven't heard back from a single one.

I just had a strange call. I don't know how to describe it, but it felt like someone who was using some voice app that sounded so human, but you could get the sense that their native language isn't English. But the English was so perfect.

The caller ID was spoofed, and the caller didn't know it. My guess is that they were working at a call centre, and the background was surprisingly dead quiet, the call was perfect. I doubt it was Ai, I take Ai calls and have become familiar with them. Is there some new technology Idk about?

There has to be extra pay for working mondays, the queue is so full, this isn't normal. Back to back calls, non stop.

This isn't healthy for the body and mind.
