Building My First PC for Gaming + Blender/CLO3D (£3000 Budget). Please Tell Me if I’m Doing Something Stupid

Hey everyone, I’m building my first PC and wanted some advice before I finalize the parts list. My total budget is around £3000 including peripherals/Windows, and I’ll be using this both for gaming and creative work at uni accommodation. Games I play are usually High-End AAA / Graphic-Intensive and FPS ones and i use softwares like blender and clo3d for uni.

Current parts list:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken Elite 360 RGB
  • GPU: Asus PRIME OC Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB
  • Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI ATX AM5
  • RAM: Crucial Pro Overclocking 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36
  • Storage: Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2TB NVMe SSD
  • PSU: MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850 W 80+ Gold ATX
  • Case: HYTE Y70 mid
  • Extra Fans: Lian Li Uni Fan SL-Infinity 61.3 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack
  • Fan Controller: Lian Li UNI HUB SL Controller
  • Monitor: Samsung Odyssey OLED G61SD 27.0" 2560 x 1440 240 Hz

I mainly wanted advice on:

  • whether any parts should be replaced/swapped for better value
  • whether my cooling/fan setup is enough
  • if the fan noise will be okay in uni accommodation
  • whether the NZXT cooler + Lian Li fans/controller setup makes sense
  • keyboard and mic recommendations that would fit this setup/budget

Aesthetic matters to me a bit too 😭. Would really appreciate any advice since this is my first proper build and I’m still learning as I go. Thanks! I have been a mac user for years now so this is all genuinely new to me lol and I plan on buying the parts in september once I move into my accom so its easier for me to have everything in one place :)

I turned 19 a week ago and my online friends remembered before my real life ones did

I turned 19 a week ago and I think what hurt the most was realizing the friends I met online remembered me more than my real life ones did. Some of them have known me for almost 5 years. They stayed up until midnight to wish me happy birthday, called me, posted for me, and genuinely made me feel loved. Meanwhile, most of my close IRL friends didn’t say anything at all even after viewing my birthday stories on Instagram. Some of them were posting birthday stories for other people who literally share the same birthday as me, which honestly made it sting even more. The part that keeps replaying in my head is that a girl I don’t even usually get along with called me around 12:30 AM just to ask if it was actually my birthday and then wished me. Somehow that small thing meant so much to me that night. I know birthdays aren’t the most important thing in the world, and I feel guilty for caring this much, but I think I just wanted to feel remembered by the people I see and talk to every day. I don’t care about gifts or parties or anything huge. I just didn’t expect the people behind a screen to make me feel more seen than the people in my actual life.
