Couldn't Foveated Rendering be done at a SteamVR level?
Not fully sure how it works as a whole but with the steam frame coming, I wonder if they could make foveated rendering done at the SteamVR level, Therefore reducing the load on individual Devs so they don't have to implement it themselves,
I know this may have the limitation of LODS not being able to be used in conjunction or something, (I saw a discussion on that so I am not sure if that is actually a thing?)
But I don't know everything about this tech, Just had an idea since SteamVR can manipulate the resolution separate of the game. And it could make a big push for eye tracking to become standard instead of a premium feature.
If I am wrong or too far-fetched on this idea do tell please!
