Is VACnet a joke?
Hey everyone,
I wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced something similar with VACnet or matchmaking penalties.
I’ve been playing CS for around 15 years and I have never cheated. Today, I played a match with a friend who is significantly lower ranked than me. I used my normal main account, not a smurf account.
To be honest, the match was obviously against much weaker players compared to what I’m used to. I understand that this can look unfair or suspicious from the outside, but is that really enough to receive a 20-hour VACnet penalty?
I’m not trying to hide the fact that the skill difference was big, but I didn’t cheat, I didn’t smurf, and I wasn’t using any alternative account. It was just one game with a friend.
Has anyone else had something like this happen? Could VACnet or the system flag players simply because the performance gap in a match is too large?
Would appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences.
