Hello!

I've recently been asked to get a bigger tank and curious about my floor. I live above someone and the tank would be in the corner of the room but I think the joists may not be running in my favour.

I recently put down some flooring and maybe this may help with any advice. 1930s "4 in a block" house. 12mm plywood subfloor on top of original floor boards, screed on top of the plywood then 22mm oak engineered wood.

Again it's the direction of the joists the have me concerned as my downstairs neighbour is 89 and the last thing she would expect to see crashing into her home would be a massive tank and fish all over her tv while watching homes under the hammer.

Happy to get a smaller tank to compensate but we have a beta and would like him to have much more space to explore than he currently does (60L)

There is no other way to put the tank other than this little space we have beside our chimney as we have various doors and windows just for refrence
