Looking for some books where the plot is complicated by ongoing heavy weather phenomena. Streets are empty, visibility is bad, people huddled in dimly lit rooms, isolation, characters disappearing, some subtle secret in the background, etc. The plot can take place in a city, does not need to be in a super secluded place.
Open to light mystery, thrillers, a crime/detective novel as well with a hint of societal unease or collapse. Not really into hardcore supernatural stuff, monsters or graphic violence, more the suspense this environment creates.
For inspiration I'm thinking of the vibes of the beginning of Red Dead 2, Hateful Eight, the old Max Payne game that takes place when it's super snowed in or the crime series Trapped from Iceland.
