Cat Aggression
Hello,
I am posting on my boyfriend’s behalf to see if anyone’s been in similar situations. He recently (past couple months) moved into a house with a past roommate, two brothers, and their girlfriends. My boyfriend has 2 cats and there are 4 other cats belonging to others. One of my boyfriend’s cats he rescued right before moving, so he stayed at my house until he could get neutered and checked for anything else. Eventually, he moved into the house with rest and to this point, has been confined to the basement. The other cats hate him and he doesn’t seem bothered, no peeing or hissing, when coming in contact with them. He can be quite aggressive though, charging them and fighting them, though it isn’t consistent. Sometimes he couldn’t care less about them. He is the sweetest cat, purrs and meows constantly and loves to be loved, but he will also get too into playing sometimes or just straight up demanding. For example, sometimes when I’m done petting him and walk away, he’ll run up and grab and bite my leg. He also gets too into playing occasionally where we have to stop. He shows no other signs of anxiety/insecurity, so I’m not quite sure what to do and my boyfriends roommates are insisting he just get rid of the cat, but of course he loves that cat and would rather not. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
