PC random slowdown then 100% disk usage

Hey all,

Yesterday my PC was freezing in game for a second every 15-20 seconds then when I tried to restart from Home Screen became very unresponsive and very slow prompting a full power cycle.

When rebooting it: booted to ASUS bios screen > screen went black for quite a while > back to just ASUS logo and pin wheel > went to just pinwheel > after 10 plus minutes I hear the login noise and then loaded the login screen very slowly.

I was able to log on to the computer and everything proceeded to load at a snails pace then was responsive but very slow. Got in to task manager and disk usage was at 100%. Mostly showing system as the culprit.

After a while it just went back to normal but has come back again randomly at startup with unresponsiveness and 100% disk usage.

SMART info read via crystaldiskinfo says SSD is 100% healthy in good condition

Memory Check says ram is good with no issues and passes tests

I ran syschk /f /r and that didn’t help.

What else should I check or do to try and resolve this strange issue that came on out of nowhere.

Specs for reference:
9800 X3D
Gigabyte 5070ti
Asus Prime b850 plus WiFi mobo
Tforce Vulcan 6400 Ram 32gb
2TB Patriot 410 SSD

PC Bricked Itself Today

Hey all looking for some advice here:

Was playing games a few moments ago and I noticed the game kept micro freezing about every 15-20 seconds or so. I saved what I was playing and rebooted the game only to have the same issue. No high temps or anything weird displaying other than a lower GPU temp of 30 that climbed to 37C which is likely because I’ve had the door open and it’s cool out.

Went to desktop to go to home and restart PC and it would not open windows home. Then it appeared suddenly after some strange behavior and froze hard. I hit the reset button. And then it would boot to bios screen, go dark, then come back to Asus bios flash with no options but a pinwheel. Unplugged and did full power cycle.

Retried the restart a couple times and same thing, boot to bios > black screen > back to Asus logo with pinwheel > then just pinwheel > at this point I gave up and just let it be for 10 minutes plus and suddenly I’ve got the login screen > logged in and it’s super super slow and unresponsive, pretty much useless.

Not sure what to do at this point or what would have failed to cause this. Specs are:

9800X3D
Gigabyte 5070ti
Tforce RAM
Patriot 410 SSD 2TB
Running Windows 11

Any help here is greatly appreciated.
