SRAM Eagle 70 Issues

SRAM Eagle 70 Issues

Got a new bike with an Eagle 70 manual transmission on it that looks like it came from the factory with a chain sized a link too long . It was slipping in some gears and after barrel adjustments didn’t fix it I put it on the rack and found the chain hanging completely loose in 12th with the derailleur under no tension and on the stop (see pic). It had about 30 miles on it when I found out, took a link out and now it’s slipping in most gears (especially the low ones) under load. Did a full by-the-book adjust per SRAM manual but it’s not going away. I’m at the point where the bike is going in to the shop under warranty, but so I’m educated - could the oversized chain have damaged the drivetrain? Is there anything else it could be?

Been shopping for a set of flat MTB shoes and it seems like all the usual suspects (Freerider Pros, Crankbros) are out of stock in bigger sizes (12). Worth waiting for them to come back in stock or are there other options out there these days?
