Help Needed. mechanic swapped parts from my car.

My car broke down near Erode last week (I've posted here before), and I first gave it to a local mechanic. Later I sent my own mechanic from Bangalore, he worked on it for 4 days and brought the car back.

Now after checking the car, it looks like the alternator and some sensors are different/replaced. Before the breakdown the car never had these issues, but now I’m getting multiple new problems.

Mechanic: Sastha Auto Care, Chithode Bypass

He also has contacts with scrap dealers nearby, so I’m honestly suspicious parts were swapped out. I can’t fully prove it yet, so I’m confused what to do next.

Can I do something before he cheat somebody else and is there any proper way to verify and take action?

Need advice - Ford Figo 1.4 TDCi not starting after breakdown near Erode

I’m honestly pretty stressed right now and could use some advice from people who know these cars better.

Car: 2012 Ford Figo 1.4 TDCi
Odo: ~90k km

The car was in very good condition before this. I recently did major service work including timing belt, water pump, hoses etc, and the car has always been maintained properly.

While returning from a long highway drive, the car suddenly broke down near Erode and wouldn’t start again.

I contacted a mechanic from Google Maps nearby. He checked the car and noticed air entering near the priming pump. Since I thought it might be a simple fuel issue, I had the car towed to his workshop.

After that, things started going in circles.

First he said crankshaft position sensor + pulley were the issue because of OBD errors (possibly caused by repeated failed cranking attempts).

Then he said all 4 glow plugs/heating coils were bad and replaced them with used parts he sourced. Still no start.

At that point I got worried and asked a mechanic I know from Bangalore to go inspect the car. He checked it and suspected the common rail/fuel sensor, replaced that too, but the car still wouldn’t start.

Now they are planning to replace the fuel pressure regulator hoping that fixes it.

Injectors were checked at an injector service center and they reportedly said all 4 injectors are fine. High-pressure pump was also checked and said to be okay.

Despite all this, the car still refuses to start.

At this point I honestly don’t know what the right move is.

Should I keep the car with the current workshop and hope they figure it out, move it to another mechanic in Erode like Eureka Motors, or just hand it over to Ford service center and be done with it?

The problem is flatbed towing back to Bangalore is around 30k, and I really don’t want to spend that much just to continue replacing parts blindly here too.

Has anyone dealt with something similar on the 1.4 TDCi?

Any advice on how to handle this properly would really help.

Hey, sorry if this isn’t the right place.

I was driving from Kerala to Bangalore last week and my Ford Figo broke down near Chithode. Found a local mechanic on Google Maps, left the car with him and came to Bangalore by train since it looked like just a diesel leak.

Now he keeps asking for more money, saying sensors, pulley, high pressure pump etc all need replacement. Not really sure if he’s being genuine.

Checked Erode Ford service too but the reviews are pretty bad, so I’m not confident going there either.

I’m kind of stuck now – can’t tow it back to Kerala or Bangalore easily, and trying to figure out what to do next.

If anyone knows a reliable mechanic around Erode/Chithode or has any suggestions, please let me know. Would really help.

I’m planning to order the BCMU 370c Set B for my A1 Mini from AliExpress or TriangleLab, but the shipping cost is pretty high, around 40% of the item price.

Just checking if anyone else is planning to buy the same thing or ordering from the same seller and wants to split shipping. It could save some money.

If you’re interested, feel free to comment or send a message.
