Might be a hot take but I like Sanji and Robin's dynamic more than Sanji and Nami's

Robin is kind to Sanji and doesn't use him to her advantage which is why I think Sanji and Robin are a much better bond.

I also loved the scene in Wano when Sanji asked Robin for help. It was good development for both characters. Sanji had already learned to rely on his friends in Whole Cake Island so this was a continuation of that.

I wonder why this ship isn't as popular as Sanji and Nami. Might be the age gap.

Naruto disappointed me

I finally completed Naruto. It's the most popular in the Big 3 so I had expectations for it and it crushed all of them. These are my major problems.

**1. The World is boring and non-immersive:** Everything in the lore ties back to Leaf Village and the Uchiha. We hardly know anything about other villages. Konoha is the only interesting setting in Naruto. I also didn't like how in early Naruto, they emphasized that ninjas are merely people who work for money and then in post timeskip, ninjas became the main army of the world and the war between villages was considered a world war. Also, the idea of chakra being inherited from aliens is also weird.

**2. It sets up a lot of interesting characters and does nothing with them:** In OG Naruto, there are tons of interesting characters and potential plot points like Rock Lee(who got a whole ass surgery arc), Neji and Hinata with the Hyuga clan etc. All of these became sidelined in favour of Naruto and Sasuke. Only Shikamaru is the one who got a good arc about his sensei dying and then taking revenge. The rest become irrelevant. Might Guy is what Rock Lee should have been.

**3. The Sharingan became a plot device and Kishimoto invented techniques and asspulls to suit the plot:** I remember when Sharingan was just considered an eye that copied other jutsu. Even Tsukuyomi does make sense but how tf can eyes generate a mech robot(Susanoo). And don't get me started on Izanagi and Izanami.

Also asspulls aren't limited to the Sharingan. Don't forget Hashirama cells

**4. Chakra natures was unnecessary and served no purpose:** We were told Naruto has a wind chakra affinity but he didn't learn any Wind style Jutsu apart from Rasenshuriken. This was such an interesting lore point that didn't amount to anything

**5. I hate how the series rewards one sided crushes:** Naruto married Hinata who had a one sided crush on him since childhood, same for Sakura. Even Ino and Sai are like that. I hate how this gives a message that loving someone for years means you deserve that person.

**6. Naruto and Sasuke's bond was tell rather than show:** Perhaps my biggest issue because Naruto and Sasuke's bond is the core of the series yet they didn't have many interactions to make it believable. They were Genin together for a month or two at max before Sasuke left the village. We are told multiple times that they are best friends but the way Naruto got a panic attack for him wasn't believable.

**7. Naruto promises that he will fix the Shinobi system yet it exists at the EOS and Boruto and nothing changed **: This series tries to convince us that Shinobi village system is bad yet it still exists in Boruto. Also why tf are Orochimaru and the Elders allowed to live.

There are many other issues I have like female characters not being well written and inconsistent powerscaling but they are common in almost all mainstream shonen. But these are my main issues.

I used to dislike Usopp until I got a weird dream

I used to dislike Usopp until I got a dream in which I was in a fantasy world or something and my cousin got caught in the middle of an explosion and my first instinct to run away in the opposite direction as fast as possible.

Sounds weird but this is what actually happened lol. Since then, I have never hated Usopp.

Rank the bonds between the protagonist and female lead of each of the Big 3 from best to worst.

Imo:

Luffy and Nami = Ichigo and Rukia > Naruto and Sakura

Despite my gripes with One Piece, I think it's really difficult to make something like it and it's impressive how Oda managed to keep it popular for over 30 years.

Shorter series like AOT and FMAB might be better but I think One Piece is much more difficult to pull off. There is a reason why no new mangaka has followed what Oda did because it's a very big and risky investment.

Charlotte Pudding from One Piece is one of the better written girls in shounen and I rarely see anyone talking about her

She was part of just one arc but she is a great character imo. The audience went from loving her to hating her and later feeling bad for her.

When do you think the crew stopped feeling like a unit?

I think it's after Robin joined.

The East Blue 5 and Chopper felt like one unit plenty of times but then later everyone got divided into groups since some were closer to each other than some others.

I love how whenever a Straw Hat leaves the crew, Nami is usually the one (besides Luffy) who is the most emotionally invested in getting them back

This is why I think she is one of the most important Straw Hats even though she isn't that strong in battle. She always stands beside Luffy during difficult times for the crew and helps him. One of my favourite Nami moments is her sitting beside Luffy when he went on a hunger strike for Sanji. Even though she knew the decision was reckless, she supported Luffy.

Idk if I am the only one who feels this but I feel Luffy and Nami bond was really strong until Skypeia and after that it kind of falls into the background compared to some other bonds

I am not sure if this happens to some other bonds as well but Luffy and Nami is my favourite platonic bond among the Straw Hats so I noticed this while rereading the manga. I have read only till WCI though so not sure about Wano onwards.

Luffy and Nami had a bond that stood out particularly until Skypeia. There were a lot of significant moments between the 2 of them compared to any other duo among the Straw Hats.

Arlong Park is self-explanatory

Drum Island, Luffy carried her to Kureha's palace.

Skypeia, Luffy once again placed the hat on her head and then Nami stood up to Enel clutching his hat saying that she doesn't want treasure if she can't share it with her friends.

Compared to any other Straw Hat duo, these 2 had a lot of moments showcasing their bond until Skypeia imo.

After that, I feel their bond just shifts into the background.

Even when both of them are together as a duo in Zou and WCI, the focus was on Sanji's bond with Luffy and Nami rather than their bond with each other.

Maybe this is just because of the world expanding so individual bonds don't get much focus but I noticed it for Luffy and Nami so I wanted to share my thoughts.

With the way this sub talks about post timeskip One Piece, I was expecting it to be an abomination but I enjoyed it way more than pre timeskip.

I used to scroll this sub before reading One Piece so I went in with the expectations that everything after timeskip was gonna be trash but I enjoyed it way more than pre timeskip.

Dressrosa, WCI, Wano are 3 of my 5 favourite arcs in One Piece now.

The things I knew about like Straw Hats not interacting much post timeskip didn't bother me a lot as I watched because it was clear they were expanding the world and focusing more on Luffy's dream.

It's a standard thing with timeskips. Naruto Shippuden has the same problem where all characters become irrelevant except Naruto and Sasuke.

Now I wanna ask: why do y'all hate post timeskip One Piece so much?

Luffy is probably Nami's emotional anchor

I don't know if it's intentional or not but I am rewatching the series and noticing how Arlong Park, Water 7 and Zou all have Nami crying to Luffy whenever a crisis occurs.

This is really sweet because Nami considers Luffy her safe space probably since he was the first person to help her when she needed it the most. She also seems to rely on Luffy more than the others in general and is more emotionally attached to him.

Everyone needs someone like Luffy in their lives.
