F-16 vs F/A-18 simpit choice

I want to build a simpit for either the F-16 or the F/A-18, but I genuinely can’t decide which one to commit to. I’m also planning to add some immersion features like motorized seat straps, a vest that tightens slightly under G-load, and bass shakers/vibration for things like gunfire, engine rumble, missile launches, turbulence, and possibly carrier impacts. I mainly fly in VR, so the overall feeling and immersion matter to me quite a bit.

What keeps pulling me toward the F-16 is how sleek and modern it feels. I honestly prefer how it looks externally, the cockpit layout seems cleaner and more pilot-focused, and from what I’ve experienced it's more exciting in dogfights and high-speed flying. The visibility is also incredible, and the whole aircraft gives me more of that “fighter pilot” feeling.

At the same time, the F/A-18 feels like the more logical choice for a simpit. Carrier operations are unbelievably immersive, and would be even more especially with a haptic setup, and the aircraft has more switches, systems, and interaction inside the cockpit which sounds great for a home cockpit build. It’s also more flexible overall and can carry a larger payload for different mission types.

Part of me thinks the Hornet makes more sense objectively, but I still feel strangely drawn toward the Viper for some reason.

For people who fly both in DCS, especially in VR, which aircraft keeps you coming back long-term, and which one do you think works better as a dedicated simpit project?

Thanks.
