Just really curious, since I'm starting to like him a little.

I know the game is to satisfy sadism and masochism, but I'm thinking... they may be reflecting a part of us, a personal trauma, or a problem we are going through...

Or, maybe I'm just overthinking this?

1.) I have this idea that they constantly need to go to school (despite being vampires hehe) to continuously learn about the ever-changing world and to learn how to get acquainted with humans (??)

But HOW OFTEN do they need to attend school?

Like, do they need to go yearly then graduate then they will stop for a few years before taking school again?

2.) What is the equivalent of one vampire year to human years?

3.) I heard that DL is the type of series that becomes more rewarding and fluffy the longer you invest in it and it sort of starts in Dark Fate (not sure about this info I heard)

Like, what kind of "fluff" is it actually? Considering the type of game DL is... I'm curious.

SPOILER-Y QUESTION:

For the last post... I have a confession.

I...actually like Subaru's HDB route.

That was a surprise I wasn't expecting.

I wasn't even expecting to like him.

After Ayato then Shuu, I just chose to read his route because, I find him really attractive XD especially his pink hair that looks fluffy...

Pleasantly enough, his story more so revolved around peeling away his hard skin before reaching to touch his soft tissue (sorry since this sound like a weird metaphor😭)

He was really scary punching them walls, but >!he became apparently kind and gentle while retaining his hot-headed side and that was heart-fluttering? This is embarrassing to say...!<

>!And I can't believe this but my cheeks were actually flushed from reading his Ecstacy Chapter 10 and Epilogue! That kiss was just way too sweet!!<

And so... I prefer his route over Ayato and Shuu.

I don't plan on reading the other routes anymore since Subaru's story gave me what was finding. To this, I end my discussion...

After Ayato, I went to Shuu.

I often heard how he was the hottest (I MEAN, HE IS) and safest option to pick with, so I went with and rolled with it hahahaha

And oh man... I somewhat got tired of his route easily because man Yui constantly "caring" for another unmotivated person like Shuu made me real exhausted lol.

Like, like, I'm already lazy so why do I need to stick with another lazy person?! Is what my thought is lol hahahah

Although, it's honestly super understandable why he is like that. >!Losing the person/people you loved can really make you lose hope in life when you have no one/nothing to latch on...!<

There was also this constant illusion at the start where Yui could have escaped because of Shuu being sleepy most of the time, but then even if she did, her fate was already sealed...

As usual, I was still somewhat repulsed whenever they go biting their fangs into Yui (I'm a Medical Biology student so I feel like I am constantly being punctured and collected blood knowing it hurts so bad but I know that's the backbone of the series lol)

And plus, uuugghhhh... Each of his endings just hits!!

Before you judge me, this is more of a discussion-confession post about the first game and anime, and I just really want to share my thoughts with people in this community because I don't really have anyone to share it with.

So, I've always known the anime and game for a long time since I was a pre-teen, back when the anime was getting popular (around 2015?) and I was always wondering why some peeps watch them...

Flash forward to 2026, a month ago I've watched a summary/commentary review of Diabolik Lovers by Leo Hashee and found it way hilarious like the "it's so bad, it's so good" kind of funny 🤣 I understood immediately that it's for a specific niche audience the show/game was going for.

And got really curious about series so I searched information about it lololol and I love the VA line-up!! I gasped when I heard Midorikawa Hikaru-san's voice 🥰

I stopped for a while but curiousity won me again the past week so I wanted to read some of their routes in HBD after Hashee's first playthrough of Diabolik Lovers choosing Laito's first. (yes, he did that because of his audience's votes lolololol)

I gotta admit, he only got the Dark Chapters and Epilogue done but it already made me nauseous, so after that, I had this really strong urge to reading Ayato's route in HDB!

Why, you ask?? Because...

✅✅✅ Hikaru Midorikawa

✅ I love his design hahahaha

✅ I was just basing on the review, but I feel like he felt endearing to me?? Hahaha

So yes, I read his HDB route days on Tumblr and was pleased with the artstyle.

Was I repulsed? Of course! To the point that my brain just automatically half shuts down reading most of the dialogues while trying to understand what the heck is wrong with him and them lololol

To comfort myself sometimes, I just roast them or just blurt out "Oh? Do you want to have a taste of my foot then?!" Because they're just too much!! (although it's in their nature hahaha)

For Ayato, I honestly think he can be really stubborn and really greedy, since, poor Yui, she gets anemic so bad in his route :(

But at the same time, I have find his pranking tendencies and spoilt child personality endearing?? Hhmmmm...

EDITED: TLDR; Watched a review of DL, got curious about the game, then decided to read Ayato's route. Somehow, I finally understood the appeal of the game.
