Failing tub spout after remodel
We’ve had 5 tub spout failures in 1.5 years following a remodel. Finally, a plumber new to the company tells us it’s a water pressure issue and we need to get a PRV installed at our own expense. We never had a water pressure issue prior to that. Two questions:
We previously had a pull-down spout, and the models they sold is and have been giving us as replacements are not pull-downs. Could a pull-down spout solve the issue? If so, it seems a whole lot less expensive than the PRV installation.
Is it reasonable for the company to have failed to diagnose the issue for 1.5 years? I don’t really trust them at this point but am upset that their bid didn’t include any kind of heads up that this could be an issue down the line.
