Love practicing double stops without vibrato to really let the harmonies ring

Practicing without vibrato is vital for mastering intonation.

AITA for talking to my friends at the gym?

A couple friends of mine wanted to go to the gym with me recently. I usually go alone, but since they asked, I thought it might be fun. When they arrive they hop on their respective treadmills, and begin walking at a pretty chill pace.

I come over to join them on the treadmill and talk as we walk. They take an earbud out and we chat for maybe 15 seconds, goof off a bit... seem to be having a good time. Then there's a moment of silence.

As I then continue a bit of friendly banter, I look over to see they've both put their earbuds back in. One of them seems to notice I was trying to talk and pops out her earbud temporarily to say "Sorry what were you trying to say?" and I said "Oh, sorry, I didn't realize you put your earbud back in. Nevermind" she gives me a weird look like I had stepped on her toes and says "ok...". Then promptly places it back in her ear. After this I quit trying to converse as they clearly didn't care to talk.

I thought a walk on the treadmill would be a chill time to come say hello to my friends who had just arrived before starting my lifting sets. I totally understand not wanting to chat constantly, but since we're friends, I thought that perhaps they'd wanna interact with me during the easy parts of the workout (stretching, walking, between sets of lifting). They literally asked to go to the gym with me... In the past, this is how my other friends would workout together. We'd do our own thing but still talk a bit between sets when we could. Usually using racks adjacent to eachother. Even weirder, these two girls went to go squat and they literally picked the furthest racks from eachother. And it's not that there were available racks... One of the girls (NOT the one who originally gave me the weird look) told me later that she didn't know why her friend literally chose to workout away from her, when she could've chose the rack right next to her.

I get that some people are introverts and need their space, but I was pretty caught off-gaurd by the invitation to workout together, followed by a workout that consisted of us acting like total strangers.

By the end of our workout, none of us had said a word to each other.

Am I an dick for expecting my friends to wanna converse with me if they ask to go to the gym with me?

What do y'all think?
