What are alternate way to start your work if your OPT Approval is delayed?
I applied for my OPT in April and did biometrics on May 14 and still no decision after 30 business days so what are alternate options to start work?

**Timeline:**
- April 15, 2026: Filed OPT EAD I-765 with premium processing
- May 14, 2026: Completed biometrics appointment
- June 29, 2026: 30 business days elapsed since biometrics (premium processing guarantee window)
- June 30, 2026: Still no decision notice
**What I did right:**
- Paid for premium processing (which guarantees 15-day decision after biometrics)
- Attended biometrics on time
- Had a job offer with start date of June 1, 2026
- Followed all filing requirements
**The problem:**
When I called USCIS, they told me that premium processing has "expired" and I need to wait. I have also sent an expedited request. What can I do?

Looking for some cool friends to hang out with and explore Austin!
I recently completed my master's degree and just moved to Austin for a new job. I'm from South Asia, 5'11", and I genuinely enjoy talking about technology, engineering, and what it's like building a life in a new place.

A bit about me: I'm passionate about civil engineering and construction tech—I've been researching ways AI can streamline decision-making in the construction industry. Outside of work, I'm fascinated by space and rockets, love traveling, and I'm working on building content around civil engineering topics (especially infrastructure projects). I also have a background in Nepal and enjoy exploring different cultures and cuisines.

What I'm looking for: People who are curious about how things work, enjoy thoughtful conversations about tech and industry, and are up for exploring Austin's neighborhoods, checking out interesting spots, or just grabbing food and talking about life.

If you're into engineering, tech, travel, or just want a genuine friend in town, let's connect!
