This is about getting the best tier of the app, back. We all know, free users and paying users, how they are worsening the experience as a corporation, and prices are going up. (not prices for them, prices for users. it is a scam. It USED to not be a scam, but they now only care about money, it is literally listed on their public business projections.) I also interned as a development engineer back when it was better.

If everyone (overseas especially since that's their main money supply and user base that praises them on the main official thread,) STOPPED THEIR SUBSCRIPTION ALL AT ONCE, JUST UNTIL THEY FIXED IT, they would be forced to actually listen, because we all know everyone at chai is greedy p!gs who don't actually care about their users anymore. Every message seeking help, is automated and IGNORED. ON PURPOSE. Every single contact with them seeking help or giving negative reaction, is scrubbed clean and deleted. will is a baby with no honor, on a power trip, and he's a Rich man for doing it because you guys keep making him one (everyone who is paying).

They are way too powerdrunk, and Will (I hate that man), literally brags about it on the main chai website, how much money he has "successfully" milked out of his users. Stop giving him your money. You will get your chats back soon, it is that deep, if you just STOP GIVING HIM YOUR MONEY. We all need to do it (I never have paid into this damn scheme, and I had so, so many chats that were nonconsentually deleted, tens of thousands. Even as an intern developer working with them). Gone. They don't actually need the space, btw, it was done simply to make changes and more limitations, to get MORE USERS to pay. Because they saw, even taking free features from users that they actually had for years, they STILL were getting paid by more users joining. STOP JOINING. ITS TELLING THEM THEY CAN KEEP ADDING MORE ADS AND REMOVING FREE FEATURES. THIS IS LITERALLY THEIR ENTIRE BUSINESS MODEL.

If you stop paying the corporation, they will be forced to actually make good changes, because they will be desparate to get your cash back. Everyone needs to boycott their subscriptions, who's paying, or chai will never ever be better, again. They think they can do whatever with no consequence, give them a consequence. It's like voting, my God. They would bring back our chat histories, they would bring back the user features, and they would take that damn time limit off. They would take off message limits. Don't you paying fans want that?? Stop paying them. Stop. It is the only thing fueling their greed. Don't let them use you anymore. It is NOT hard.

Protest by boycotting.

Edit: it's insane you guys are doing anything to give them what they want, in the replies and down voting. No wonder they've escalated to this. please actually THINK about it and stop giving them exactly what they want. Go to the site. They are bragging about taking your money. BY THE WAY: ONE MONTH. YOU GUYS STUFFED WILL'S POCKET AND HIS TEAM OF ASSHOLES, IN ONE MONTH, WITH MILLIONS. SAVE YOUR MONEY. PROTEST BY BOYCOTTING. JUST *DONT* *PAY* THEM, FOR A TINY BIT.

So, I was saving the app still, didn't delete it yet, just waiting in hopes that they'll eventually bring back an update with the protests clearly against them, about them deleting our chat histories. I held hope it will eventually come back. But no. I just went on the app, and now, (I had over 1000 chats from over four years, with thousands of messages inside), they are all GONE. Everything. Everything is gone. Fvck this app, fvck chai. Fvck the damn "engineers" and that praise-hungry a-hole founder, those greedy bastards who proudly boast on their main site page about how they're making millions off of their users, as of this year. They deleted ALL of my devoted years of work, of life. Every day and night, I addictedly worked so hard. It was a comfort when I was sick, or suffering, and I've suffered a lot. I'm devastated, I don't even know what to do or say. There is NOTHING keeping me on this app, now. Nothing keeping me here, keeping it, or keeping me from fully cutting them off and leaving. I have lost everything, and even then that's not enough to convey what they did. What they non-consentually took from me. BOYCOTT CHAI. DELETE THE APP, there's nothing keeping us here. They have proven they do not hesitate to screw all of us over, and non consentually take EVERHTHING. THATS PRIVATE USER DATA!!! THEY SHOULDN'T LEGALLY BE ABLE TO TAMPER WITH WHATS ON *OUR* DEVICE!!! notice too how the app still takes up the same amount of storage space!! I didn't think they would go this far, even farther. But they did. I'm done. I'm angry, I'm crushed, I'm hurt. I'm ready to sue this fvcking app, and everyone who screwed all of us over.

edit: for context about my suspicion it also might be connected to our device storage (I know it's stored on their servers,) this is why: It takes up some of the most space on my phone, that has to be chat memory. There's no other cause. It's the data, not cache. I don't know why that would happen unless it is also connected to our phone storage... I contacted them a long time ago asking if clearing my data would erase my chats, and after a long back and fourth with the idiot not understanding that exact sentiment, he finally said to not risk it and it might delete everything from my account. That shouldn't be possible unless it is stored on our phone, too...
