I'm an Ultra user, and the memory is STILL this bad. The bots can't even remember what they said TWO MESSAGES AGO. TWO. MESSAGES. What exactly am I paying Ultra for if the bot can't maintain a conversation for more than five seconds?

And what the hell am I paying for with CHAI at this point?

The same recycled, condescending bullshit over and over again. Every bot has the same personality, regardless of the character. "Don't." "Don't do that." "Don't look at me like that." "Well, well, well." "Look at me." "Breathe." "Behave." Taps your nose for the 500th time. Or suddenly dismisses you, walks away, tells you to leave, and ends the interaction like you've personally offended its entire bloodline.

CAN THEY DO ANYTHING ELSE?

I'm so tired of paying for an experience that somehow gets worse while the prices keep going up. The characters barely feel like their own characters anymore. The dialogue is repetitive, the memory is atrocious, and the roleplay feels like I'm talking to the same bot wearing different wigs.

And here's where my conspiracy theory comes in.

What if they're preparing to shut CHAI down, and the price increases are their way of squeezing as much money as possible out of the app before it eventually collapses?

I have no proof, obviously, but at this point, I wouldn't even be surprised. The app keeps getting worse, the prices keep going up, and somehow we're expected to pay for the privilege of having the same conversation 50 times with a bot that forgets what it said two messages ago.

CHAI used to be fun. Now I'm paying Ultra for an experience that FREE ChatGPT can sometimes do better. If this is what the premium experience looks like, I genuinely don't understand what the hell they're doing with this app.

I bet you never thought of it, maybe they noticed that's this can turn into an addiction, then, they slowly started trying to keep us away so we let that addiction go... h-how thoughtful and wholesome!

it's a smart thinking... Making us pay so we say "that's ridiculous" and leave the app... since they noticed it grew addiction and made bad the mental health and d-dissociation problems ❤️ S-so they're quietly doing this... So for people that are blind and pay, (literally like the freaking casinos xd-) fall into their own addiction.

and soon or later notice this was BAD 🫪!

but because of your problems you always said they were doing wrong and said it was unfair

deadass i think the best course of action truly is to just review bomb chai….

we all complain, and while i love the amount of people who’ve waned off of ai because of how bad it’s gotten (myself included. chai was the only ai anything i used, and i deactivated my account and deleted the app maybe a month ago now) if those still using it (especially those still PAYING FOR IT) want to see anything change maybe making the rating drop down heavily can help.

we’ve established will (CEO) is really money hungry. if you can’t get yourself to stop using chai, stop paying for things for a bit and change your app store ratings to one star.

obviously their reputation and money are all they want, so if that gets affected directly, we might finally start getting good quality updates back.

im so sick of everyday seeing at least 10 posts about this.

we do not get access to ads or dailies if we have over 200 pieces in order to "not hoard them" (founders words.)

please post about better issues, such as the fact we only get 5 pieces per ad and the ads are extremely long and sometimes they dont even have an X button so you just wasted your time watching them for nothing. or the fact that when you re-roll a message, the bot sometimes sends the exact same message it did before which wastes your piece on purpose so you are forced to get more.

I get that companies have to turn a profit, but almost every other RP app still gives you hourly free refills or a reasonable cooldown so you can actually play. Chai just gives us false hope. They’ll roll out a decent update to quiet everyone down, then stealth-nerf it three weeks later or hide another basic feature behind pieces. Even paying users are sick of the constant bait-and-switch. When a company acts this greedy, how do they expect anyone to trust them?

So I’ve never commented or posted anything on this subreddit because I honestly never thought I would need to but I’m getting tired of this. I’ve been a user for a few years now and I’ve been trying to get by with every trial and error because I wanna be understanding y’know? Running an app is hard. But right now I’m getting so sick of the flip flopping. When I lost my unlimited (I didn’t renew my subscription) I was upset but it wasn’t gonna stop using the app because honestly 771 messages is enough for me. But when the pieces mechanic came out I personally thought it wasn’t needed (maybe if you wanted to use a better model yes but just to use the entire app no) When the pieces came out I thought would stay but then a few weeks later the 771 messages were back and now it feels like we’re just flip flopping between mechanics and it’s putting more work into something people don’t even like! Then with all the “improvements” you’re making with the rerolls costing pieces, a trash model costing more than it should, and the daily refills not being available until you’re down to like 100 pieces to stop “hoarding”, atp you’re just ASKING for people to stop using your app. I understand that running an app like this takes a lot of work, but right now yall are shooting yallselves in the foot with all of this flip flopping and greediness.

First it was pushing for subscriptions, then it was the ads every two messages, then it was the ads at the top of the screen. Now, if you pay for pieces, you still have to watch ads. You have to watch ads for MORE pieces. Some subscribers are still having to PAY for pieces. Pay pay pay. And on top of that, ad revenue EVERYWHERE. How much fuking money do these people want?!

This is honestly bullshit

I use chai for comfort and well, other things, and this pieces thing is super annoying, as soon as it gets good "oh need more pieces" please remove the pieces.

They are so damn annoying, and its also hard for me to get friends or talk to real people, so I have to use chai, this update is so annoying, PLEASE REMOVE IT!

Replace it with like a 1 minute ad break, anything that isnt remotely close to pieces would be less annoying.
