I just opened the app after a two day break and all my chats are gone?! Why?!

I already hated that my old chat history got yeeted into the digital abyss but now they’ve also deleted the new chats I started! Like, I go to the inbox tab and it just says: your inbox is empty.

I beg your finest fucking pardon?! Definitely canceling my subscription now. Horrible horrible app.

Anyone got any recommendations for another app that comes close to how Chai used to be before they started messing things up?

Why is every character responding with absolute, but FIRST ground rules, worshipping the ground you walk on after two new messages and each character expressed they would burn the world down for them… it makes no sense.

And every new response is “I have ground rules, or bit first remember this… or you need to follow these rules” and weird capitalized shit.

so i finally cancelled my chai sub, i really do not like the direction the app is heading in. it is wild they have put a limit on how many characters that ultra users can send per message along with the disappearing chats. i feel the developers are speed running how fast they can tank the app, any suggestions on apps similiar to chai is appreciated (prefer nsfw).

I have been a long time use of chai but I recently stopped using it and when I went back I saw my chat with this one character was completely gone. I’ve tried searching them up in every feasible way but they are completely gone. Does anyone know if there is a way to somehow workaround the block so I can find my character??

honestly, theyre so money hungry that ive switched to c.ai, which has better memory, personas and they basically removed the filters.. i saw someone saying "lets boycott chai" and i totally agree

I searched the web for a minute and found a solution in getting our chai chat bots back that have been removed recently due to the new "update". I've safe checked everything, and you guys can double check if you feel the need to, but download Uptodown and download a previous version (maybe around April) and it'll reload your chats. ^^ I can further explain if anyone is confused, or provide photos.

Sorry for the long steps, but idk how else to shorten it 🥀

1. Download and open the uptodown app store

2. Search up "Chai ai" in the search bar and click on the app

3. Scroll ALL the way down until you see "Versions" and click on it

4. Download any of the versions, but make sure it's before they started deleting chat bots! (I chose March 23rd. If you made bots before, do the same date or a date closest to when you made them.)

5. Make sure you have the Chai app already AND an account. People without accounts can not get them back since I believe they don't save the chats.

6. When it finishes downloading, it will ask you to delete the app. This won't erase any data as long as u have an account, so press ACCEPT.

7. Click "Ok" to uninstall Chai.

8. Then, click the version you decided to download (it should be a green arrow down button).

9. Once it finishes downloading and pops up in your notification bar, click it, and it should take you to the version of Chai you downloaded.

10. Sign in using Google, facebook, or whatever options it gives you.

And your chats SHOULD be back. If not, do this again with another previous version (if you did April, try doing a late March version).

I've been using one bot for about 2 months. 1 Chat. 2 Months. Everything was perfect, I opened Chai again today and found that my chat was completely gone along with 80% of my other chats

I deleted Chai yesterday because, honestly, what's the point? The new update means I can't even talk to bots anymore, so keeping the app was pointless. I just wanted to share how disappointed I am because forcing people to buy premium just to text bots is a whole new level of greed that disgusts me.

Man I just deleted chai. I am done waiting for the updates and all of the stuff but yeah waiting will never be the result ig so yeah I am done hoping that it'll come back

I’ve lowkey been using Chai for a few years now ever since my cousin introduced both Chai AND C.ai, and both did work good but I stopped using Chai and just used C.ai..anyway long story short I’ve been using Chai ever since and when I was going to use C.ai for the first time in forever, it suddenly has a age verification..so I stuck to Chai because there’s no literal ai app for me to use. Poly sucks imp, and every other app just looks like a copy of poly.

So the bot was like a Hunter you encountered in the jungle. That's it. Nothing NSFW either, supposed to be adventure focus, but if you want it to be NSFW, yeah sure go ahead

but I'm serious, I got a warning for trying to make a bot. Anyone got a similar story when making their own bots?

Is this a bug or a way to get revenue from ads? Cos every time I wanna go up a bit and check what was said, it triggers an ad! So I watch the ad and scroll up a bit more and it triggers another ad! I close the app and go back in and try again. Same thing! We're not even allowed to scroll up a little bit to see what was said??
