Ocular melanoma
Hi guys. I had ocular melanoma and about a year ago I had brachytherapy done on my eye. In my left eye I pretty much have no peripheral vision, flashers, and lots of floaters. It’s always painful. It feels like my eye is too big for my socket and is squeezing out or like someone is scooping it out with a spoon. I’ve gone to the doctor and everything looks normal. The cancers dead and there’s nothing wrong that they think is causing this. They’re telling me it’s effects of the radiation and there’s nothing they can really do to fix it. I did wear an eye patch to help make my vision clear because when both eyes are open they work together and so there’s floaters everywhere and my eyes are constantly trying to focus which then causes headaches. I stopped wearing the eye patch because it was so annoying to always have something on my face. I tried the adhesive ones too. Now I’m thinking about getting my eye removed. Is that a dumb idea? I just feel like it would help. But I also am only 18 and don’t want to regret it later. Has anyone gone through a similar experience or just have had their eye removed? I would love any advice
