How do you even start with brainteasers questions?

I went to interview for Bank of America for global markets

and it was going so well until they asked me 'You have 9 identical-looking balls; one is lighter. With a balance scale and two weighings, how do you find the lighter ball?'

like i had no clue what they were asking me and it was from there it went down hill.

Like why the fuck would i be asked that? and the worst thing is that i went home and i had no way of actually practicing these types of questions. like it just ruined my interview experience. I spoke to some of my friends who have interviewed at top consultancy firms and tier one investment and they all have similar experiences.

anybody know where to even begin with that question because thats actually pissed me off

I got asked "why should we not hire you?"

I just had an interview, and it was going fine until he asked for two reasons why they shouldn't hire me. It really pissed me off, and I lost my confidence as I gave two bullshit reasons that definitely lost me the job.

When it came time for me to ask questions, I asked "what's the biggest reason I shouldn't pick your company if I'm given multiple job offers?"

He got kind of annoyed at me, and said "well, you can stay at your current company if you want to". He then kept saying "I can't believe you asked that question. Thanks for the chat today, it was nice to meet you, but that last question was a weird one"

Fuck these companies. I don't want your job anyway.

UPDATE: This app https://mocklyai.co.uk generated this exact question and said my answer and it told me exactly why I fail this question. Thank you for whichever community member suggested it to me. Did another interviews practicing with it and got an offer.
