MacBook Pro screen with less than 1 year suddenly dies
Hello!
First of all, thank you for getting here.
So my girlfriend got a M1 14' MacBook (A2442) less than a year ago. She's annoyingly careful with it, and it has never fallen or had any type of water contact or external force.
Today, it suddenly stared flashing on the right side of the screen, and then the whole side just died. The rest of the screen keeps flashing colored bars, for a few seconds.
I've noticed a small bump on the right lower side of the monitor, and when I touched it it burnt me. The bulging should've appeared from the heat, because it looks like it melted there.
Guy from an apple partner store said he has never seen something like that and the whole screen would need to be replaced.
Unfortunately (and even having been so far only 10-11 months since being powered on for the first time), we can't get access to warranty since the MacBook was bought some time before by my gf's sister company.
Really unlucky event, but since she's so careful with it I never thought something like that would happen and much less from an apple product.
Is there something that can be done except replacing the monitor? Because that is almost 2x the price of the MacBook.
Thank you!
Battery continues to underperform
Hello!
I'm still having problems with my battery, since March (when I bought my OP15).
I've tried everything, including hard resetting. I guess I was just unlucky?
I have the CPH2747.
Anyone else? Thanks.
