Oneplus 16

OnePlus 16 leaks are here and this thing looks insane 😭🔥

The BOE display is probably the thing I'm most interested in. Apparently, it's supposed to be even better than the S26 Ultra's display 👀. If that's actually true, OnePlus is seriously cooking.

The other rumored specs are crazy too — Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, 9000mAh battery, 200MP periscope camera, 185Hz display, 100/120W charging and an AI button.

If all of this actually makes it to the final phone, what do you guys think the price will be in India?

Switching from iPhone 17 to OP15

Hi ! I hope everyone’s okay. Well I have an iPhone 17 pro and I am really happy with it, I love taking great photos and videos, the display is amazing, apps on ios are super optimized especially social media apps etc. I have a MacBook pro alongside. The only disappointed thing would be about the battery life which is good but not great. I just found a brand new OP15 16/512 with 120w charger around $599. This phone seems to be amazing : super fast, amazing battery life and charging speed, great display (I read it was less brighter than the 17 pro tho), great sound speakers etc. But there’s still that camera thing that I don’t really get : some people here say it’s more than decent, some people say its pretty bad especially the video part, so I don’t really know. I use social media a lot and I also use iMessage w my family but I could eventually stop using it if the OP15 worth it. So what about the camera part ? And what about social media apps on android ? I’ve had so much android phones but a long time ago (an HTC one M7 then a Redmond note 5 lmao) and im like : if I switch should I pick the OP15 or any other pixel device ? Will I lose a lot about that photo part I have on my 17 pro ? Thanks again !

Oneplus 15 Availability

So I know I'm late to the party, but I was planning on getting a NEW Oneplus 15. Only problem is, there basically impossible to find in the North American version. Should I get a global version instead? What are the differences? (Also I want the 16GB/512GB Sandstorm variant.)

This phone is unfairly overlooked

Bought a 5T when it released, flashed lineageos on it after it stopped getting updates, and after 9 whole years, it is now dead. Hoping this 15 will live an even longer and happier life. Battery life has been practically multiplied by 10 also!

Battery suddenly improved

Mixed wifi and 5g along with 2h of hotspot sharing.

All of a sudden a huge improvement which surprised me. The first 1% took 1h.

Small rant about forceful features that are constantly shoved down our throats

recently got my first ever OnePlus phone, the 512/16gb variation and i couldn't be happier with this upgrade, coming from a xiaomi poco x3 pro, this phone is simply incredible;

out of the box it had the "CPH2747_16.0.1.303 ex 01" version installed, and now i've unfortunately finally decided to update it to the latest version, that being the "16.0.9.400" version, and i've gotta say, i was so utterly disappointed to see how these sh#tty ai this ai that ai everything features are being forcefully shoved down our throats, without having any say in the matter and given a simple option to turn it on and off. ugh.

prime example being this useless "create" section that got added to the photos app, i know that i can simply ignore it and all, and i am, but just get my frustration, coming from my old poco phone where it had all sorts of useless and bloat-wary type apps, even ads at times, and a horrendous stock photos gallery & videos experience, the OnePlus phone felt like a breath of fresh air for me, until now, with these useless changes

another one i've noticed is the file dock, such a neat and cool feature, it used to open my PDF files in firefox, as set by default by me, now it doesn't, it just defaults to the "documents" app which btw appeared out of nowhere? (also, none of this stuff is ever mentioned in any of these release notes? like damn, one would really appreciate knowing in advance what's gonna be installed or not with an update, is that so much to ask for?)

anyhow, i've yet to explore and get disappointed more, i'm sure, but also there's as many ups as there is downs to this all, i'm not just bashing the entire thing, i'm very satisfied with this phone, just disappointed and completely fed up with how technology in recent years is just forcefully shoving all this ai bs down our throats, at least give us an option to turn that sh#t off, damn.

is there any way for me to downgrade the photos app to it's previous version and keep it there for life?

Oneplus 15 16GB 1TB inicial review and impressions

So as a long long time diehard Samsung user I got my Oneplus for the second time years later. I loved the Oneplus 7 Pro that phone was really close to perfection but the cameras oh boy did that hold that thing back...the S10 lineup was so much better in cameras. But nowadays I was really disappointed in my S25 Ultra battery life it surely didn't feel like an Ultra worthy battery, other companies throwing 16GB and 24GB of Ram and 6000+ battery size and for less than half that price and that really made me think about this. To put this in prespective I paid 1300€ for my S25 Ultra last year and 789€ this year for the Oneplus 15 that's already 511€ bucks cheaper and if I bring this years s26u and 17 pro Max with the same 1TB it's nearly 2000€ which makes the Oneplus almost 3 TIMES cheaper. That is beyond crazy to me. And they're definitely not 2 times better, in most cases it's actually worse. So the battery life has been amazing sometimes a day and a half to actually two days depending on the usage, performance has been amazing also as expected, outdoor visibility has been great also zero issues there and the cameras have been pretty good I'd say surprisingly good not as bad as some people make it out to be. It always say this and think that it is the user that makes the camera and not the camera that makes the user, I know a lot of friends that have great phones and take really bad pictures and so far I've taken pretty great ones with this machine but definitely not as good as my S25 Ultra but the one thing that's a bit concerning or something that I've noticed is that the phone heats way way more than my S25 Ultra, it really gets uncomfortable sometimes when I'm playing some emulation PC games but those same games don't make my S25 as hot as this one. I'd say that's the one and only issue I'm having with this Oneplus. Has this happen to you ? Is there any fix or way to mitigate the heat ?

Colour Came off

The colour/coating on the frame of my OnePlus 15 has started coming off with normal use. The phone is otherwise perfectly fine and there’s no major damage. I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced the same issue with their OnePlus 15, and whether OnePlus has treated this as a warranty issue or offered any replacement/repair. Has anyone here taken this to an authorised service centre and gotten it resolved under warranty?

AccuBattery thoughts

Hey guys, I've been using my OnePlus15 for over 1,5 months now. Here are my accubattery stats since day 1. What concerns me is that low battery health estimate. I know it is just 1,5 months so it may be too short but still the trend seems to be forming really low for a brand new phone.

I would like to ask you about your thoughts about this.

Offline AI Core in OnePlus 15

Apparently OnePlus/Google finally Activated offline Ai Core in OnePlus 15. Before, many times i tried to get it to work without luck. Today I checked the AI Core app and finally i can see the offline AI models available.

This is good news. I'm not sure if initially it was disabled from Google or OnePlus.

Oneplus 15 vs iQOO 15 (India)

Hi everyone,

I’m honestly pretty confused between the OnePlus 15 and iQOO 15, and I’d really appreciate some opinions from people who are actually using these phones.

Both phones look really good for heavy gaming, performance and the processor, and in the ₹70–80K range I feel these are among the best options right now. But there are a few things making me hesitate before spending that much money.

  1. OnePlus 15 — the India exit concern

OnePlus is obviously a more established brand in terms of resale value, software experience and overall brand presence.

But with all the recent news about OnePlus pulling out of Europe/other markets and the rumours about a possible India exit in the future, I’m genuinely concerned.

I know OnePlus India has denied the India-exit rumours, so I’m not saying that they are definitely leaving India. But if I’m spending ₹70–80K on a phone, I don’t want to regret it later because of service availability, resale value or long-term support.

So my question is: Would you personally still buy a OnePlus 15 in India right now, considering all this uncertainty?

  1. iQOO 15 — update/motherboard concerns

On the other hand, iQOO 15 seems like a beast for gaming and performance, and honestly this is probably the phone I’m more interested in from a pure hardware perspective.

But I’ve been seeing quite a few discussions about the July update and motherboard/dead-phone issues.

I obviously don't know how widespread the issue actually is or whether it affects a particular batch/software version, but this is worrying me a lot.

If I’m spending ₹70–80K, I really don't want to be thinking about whether the next software update could potentially cause a serious hardware issue.

So for existing iQOO 15 users:

Have you personally faced any motherboard/dead-phone issue after the July update?

And if you haven't, how has your experience with the phone and updates been so far?

  1. Should I just wait for OnePlus 16 / iQOO 16?

This is the biggest dilemma.

There are already leaks/rumours around the OnePlus 16 and iQOO 16, and the iQOO 16 is reportedly expected to arrive in India around September, although launch information is still uncertain. (Cashify)

At the same time, prices are currently inflated, so I’m thinking that BBD could be the best time to buy the current generation at a good discount.

But then I'm thinking:

If I spend ₹70–80K during BBD and the 16 series launches shortly after, will I regret not waiting?

I don't necessarily need the absolute latest phone. If the OnePlus 15/iQOO 15 gets a really good discount, I'm completely fine buying the current generation.

What would you do in my situation?

My priorities are basically:

Heavy gaming/performance

Good processor and sustained performance

Long-term reliability

Good software/update experience

Decent resale value

Reliable service in India

And obviously, I don't want to spend ₹70–80K and then deal with motherboard/dead-phone issues 😅

So would you:

A) Buy OnePlus 15 during BBD

B) Buy iQOO 15 during BBD

C) Wait for OnePlus 16

D) Wait for iQOO 16

E) Consider some completely different phone?

Would really appreciate opinions from actual OnePlus 15/iQOO 15 owners, especially regarding long-term reliability and software updates.

Thanks!

Guide: Restore and maintain the battery life of your OP15

What you see in these two screenshots is a typical day for my beloved OnePlus 15, which I've had since the beginning of May. After almost four months of use, its battery health is still at 100%, and the battery life is excellent. In this short guide or tutorial, I'm going to try to explain why your battery doesn't last as long, and what to do to prevent it.

First scenario: your battery doesn't last that long.

First things first: stay calm. Your phone is probably only a few months old, and I know you're already thinking about replacing its battery. First, check that no app or service is draining the battery in the background or has frozen. If you've already ruled that out, you need to understand that lithium batteries, being pure chemistry, they function according to how you treat them. This is the first thing you need to do to restore their functionality:

1.Charge your phone to 100%

2.Use it normally until it's completely discharged. It won't work if it reaches 1%; the phone should shut down due to lack of charge.

3.Charge it to 100%. Turn it on, but you can't use it while it's charging.

4.Wait until the full charge notification appears.

Congratulations, you've just calibrated your battery! From now on, you should notice that its battery life increases.

Second scenario: You want to take the best possible care of your battery

Gentlemen (and perhaps some ladies), turn off charging until 80%. All you're doing is using less battery throughout the day, reinforcing the false impression that your battery doesn't last. They recently compared several batteries through many charge and discharge cycles, I can't remember exactly, but they spent monts forcing them, some from 0 to 80% and others from 0 to 100%. The result? Between 2% and 5% difference between batteries charged to 80% and those charged to 100%. What's the point of giving up using the full potential of our phones for a measly 3% battery health?

If you really want to take care of your battery, don't let it drop below 20%, or at most 15%, as normal. More importantly, don't charge your phone in short bursts. Don't plug it in for 10 minutes, then another 20 minutes later. Obviously, it's normal if you're in a hurry one day and you charge it for 10 minutes at home and 20 minutes in the car, that's fine too, there's no need to obsess over it. The problem is doing those micro-charges Repeatedly, day after day. They are those things we do perhaps without paying attention, are what throw off the battery calibration and then make it last less time. Simply by like that, you'll protect your battery.

As a friendly piece of advice, enjoy your phone and don't obsess over percentages; with just a little care, your phone and battery can last for years.

I'll buy a OnePlus 15

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I'm planning to buy a OnePlus 15 this week. I currently own the OnePlus 13R, but I feel the battery life is a bit short for everyday use. I'd like to upgrade to something more premium. Do you think it would be a good idea? If so, I'd appreciate it if you could recommend some magnetic phone cases. I'm currently looking at one from the Nilkin brand on AliExpress. I really appreciate your comments.

Poor battery life

Hello! I recently bought a OnePlus15 and have been disappointed by the battery life. This is a used OP15 but the system says it has 100% battery health. Additionally, I tried finding the estimated battery capacity via Accubattery Pro, but it estimates around 3500mAh (which has to be wrong). Accubattery gives me an estimated 12h SOT (26h combined) but I have never gotten above 6h.

Usually I will commute to work about 30 minutes total per day (5G + GPS) and then listen to Spotify + watch YT (around an hour) + scroll Instagram/Reddit (around two hours) for the rest of the day (on Wifi). This will usually drain my battery from 80 to 30, which seems much worse than typical OP15 SOT. The battery life actually feels similar to my old OP8T, which doesn't seem right.

I have restricted background activity for apps like Reddit and Instagram, but this hasn't seemed to change anything.

The attached screenshots don't completely capture my normal usage but I found that the battery drain was extremely high (probably due to extra GPS use).

Is there something I'm doing wrong? I followed maybe half of the suggestions in the battery saving thread but nothing has changed much.
