Hi all! I'm heading to Holbox solo for 5 nights (Oct 26–31) after two weeks travelling Mexico with my partner.

I'd like to stay close to the center and meet people. Ideally somewhere with a relaxed vibe and a bit of a social side, like a hotel with a bar, a pool, or a small community feel. Budget is around $100 per night.

A few questions:

• Any hotels or guesthouses near the center that are good for solo travellers wanting to meet people?
• Any recommendations for kitesurfing schools? Are late-October conditions good for it?
• For bioluminescence, is it better to book a tour or go on your own, and any operators you'd recommend?

Hey there! I am planning a trip in Mexico for 3 weeks as solo travel and I'd love to be able to spit this as follows:

• City break
• Jungle hike
• See the beautiful historical sites
• Do a week surf retreat

Anyone would have recommendations on where to go at that time of the year? I'd quite like to avoid touristic paths but ultimately understand that I might not be able to.
