Plaster Ceiling Medallions in the Midwest

I'm located in Chicago, and looking to purchase several ceiling medallions for our 1915 home.

I've found a few companies on either coast, but nearly all of their own disclaimers say "yes, you can by from us, but.. the shipping costs prevent most people from actually buying from us."

Anyone have any recommendations for places in the Midwest who do this? I'm happy to make a drive for the right products! TIA!

Paint Stripping Doorframes

I've got a hallway with 5 doorframes that are all painted white, and I want to get them all back to the original wood (including the cabinets in the central built-in).

I'm wondering what the most exacting way to do this is (ie: I'm afraid things like Citristrip or Peelaway will also pull up paint from the walls, and I've used a heat gun before on furniture and am not sure I can control it efficiently enough to avoid heating the walls?).

Do the Infrared Heat box things work on this sort of trim? Totally game to purchase the right equipment to be the most efficient.

Thanks!

PS - is there a name for these little rectangles that are on every door frame?

Looking for recs for the best triathalon running shoe that is also gayyy

Looking to buy a new pair of running shoes that meet the triathalon requirements AND are also loud/colorful AF.

If im going to ruin my genetically inferior knees with all this training, I want to do it in a shoe that is comfortable, brings me joy, AND maybe also elicits someone to yell a hate slur out of their sports car.

Appreciate any help!

Hi, folks. I'm looking to create a similar layout to the one pictured here, and I hope you can help! I'm a pretty seasoned Word user, and I have already done a lot of searching and can't seem to find a solution that works efficiently.

My current workaround is to create mirrored margins, and then a separate text box for the sidebar. This is... fine, but it requires a lot of time to finagle the formatting (because when text gets added to the main body of the document, the sidebar text box gets pushed down the page, and requires it to be repositioned), and doesn't allow for text within the sidebars to automatically continue onto the next page, alongside the content it's commenting on.

Using a table could work, it seems, but:

  • I can't figure out how to format that table to have it mirrored in booklet format

I'd be grateful for any help. Thanks!
