I cannot WAIT to play the Warriors

Every year, pre-season, some rookie runs his mouth about a random vet who ends up wrecking them. Usually it’s LeBron. THIS year however, we get the absolute privilege to watch Dillon absolutely obliterate this man. Anyone who just says shit like this unprompted deserves it.

What is your hope for the season?

With the season coming up, I’m wondering what everyone’s realistic hope for the season is? I’ll start.

5-6 wins

Beck plays enough to get 2500-3000, 20 touchdowns+ and a low amount of INT’s and shows we got our guy.

J-love establishes himself

Maserati Marv returns

Who is the former player whose hill you’re willing to die on should be in the hall of fame? I’ll go first.

Anquan has the stats and the Super Bowl. He’s a two-time semifinalist. To me, he’s one of the most underrated WR’s ever and for 2003-2015, the most underrated in the NFL. Productive every single year all the way to the end. Over half his seasons he reached 1000 or more.

Who is the Cardinal you wish we had more time with? I’ll go first.

Man 2016 was special. 1200 yards rushing, over 800 receiving, 20 touchdowns, and a stand up dude. Always love for him. It’s hard to convey to younger people that A. We were good and B. How electric and historic this season was.

My god

oh my oh my oh my… This is the most fun I’ve had watching cardinals football, maybe since Kingsbury? I know it’s one preseason game but those two drives… goddamn Beck was unleashed. I have no idea if he’s the guy, but this has been fun as hell.

The Beckoning

The night before the first preseason game… when hopium runs deepest.

What would be considered a good night to you to open up “The Beckoning“ era?

Give it a rest

I don’t like Miles Bridges’ character. What he did is despicable. Full stop.

But for the love of god, PLEASE stop with the doom and gloom posts. This is the reality, the rest of the team are our boys. It’s gonna be a good season. Chill the fuck out.

Are you crazy?

I don’t know how you can watch this and say “lEtS gO aFTeR sOrSbY.”

Fuck outta here with that. Let Beck play. Let the Jets or Browns make the Sorsby mistake.

Thoughts?

  1. Without having coached a game yet, what are your thoughts on LaFleur in comparison to the other coaches post-BA?

  2. What do you think a realistic win total for this season is?

  3. What do you think would constitute a good 1st year for MILF?

*FRIDAY FAN POLL*

What is your favorite thing BA ever said or did? (you may answer both)

I’ll go first: when he came out and the reporters asked him how Hump was doing. And he goes “who?” And they repeated it and he goes “Oh you mean Knee Deep! That’s his name now.”

nothing like him 😂

Fun fact: once met Hump on a late night flight to Charlotte on my way to Boston. Just an absolutely massive human being. Bur incredibly low key and very nice. Hope he gets his ring this year in LA.

LaFleur makes the right call

No QB1! Open competition!

Listen, do I want our QB of the future now? Sure.

But for where we are right now, given MO’s dumbass leaking that Jacoby was the starter, this asinine contract hold out, etc., the fact that LaFleur came out today publicly and said this, gives me a lot of hope and trust that we finally have an adult in the room who might actually know what he’s doing.

Can you imagine the optics, after two days of Jacoby pouting on the sidelines, if they doubled down on Brisket?

Minshew and Beck have been there, working hard, developing relationships, and it would be such a disservice to them to not say anything other than what LaFleur said here.

it’s a low bar, but he’s the first coach hire since BA where I go, “yeah yknow he could be something.“

God it’s been a long 10 years.

Seeking advice on extra discretionary income

Hello! I (33 M) and my wife (34F), paid off our last credit card payment today and I am seeking advice!

We haven't used a credit card in over a year, even with being aggressive paying off credit cards and not having much disposable income. We really have changed our habits and have even gone on a short weekend vacation and used fully cash for everything. We have no easy access to any credit cards.

Our background is we are middle class, living in United States with 3 kids (6, and twin 1 year olds). Here are some particulars about our situation:

We have a mortgage with 299,000 on it at 3.9% interest with roughly 75-80,000 in equity depending on the valuation.

We have no credit card debt anymore, our only debt is in:

Car payment (2023) (386 a month/4.5% interest/19,000 left)

Car payment (2023) (494/month/ 9% interest/24,000 left)

HELOC: 235 a month/6% interest/17,000 left

Payment for a new back door we had to replace after we moved in: 69 a month/4,700 left

We also pay my parents 500 a month in money we owe them for work that was done on our house.

We also have 4,100 in savings, but would like more, obviously.

My wife also got a promotion that is bringing her salary up 12,000 dollars a year. That kicks in in July.

I left education and started a career in the corporate world. I have a small public pension in retirement but need to be proactive about my new 401K (i'm putting 8% into it with a 4% match, with an 8,000 dollar rollover from my 403B and 457B accounts from education).

Right now, with our new situation before my wife's new salary, we have roughly a little over 2,000 a month that isn't being used after bills and groceries are accounted for.

Here are our wants/goals:

Saving for kids' college (we haven't done that for any of the 3, and we know for our 6 year old we are behind).

Pay off other debt

We would like to have one more kid and our house is maxed out in space to have a fourth, we either need to build onto our house (our lot is large) or buy a house with another bedroom.

Short-term (within a year) take a big vacation for our 10th anniversary.

Essentially, we have way more than we know what to do with and need some ideas or advice on what to do with the 2,000 extra a month we now find ourselves with. If anyone has ideas on achieving any of the things above, or how we should allocate that money now, that would be amazing. This is the first time in my adulthood i've had any real money and no debt not tied to house or cars and I want to make sure my kids and family get ahead and thrive.

Thank you all!

Seeking advice-- newly credit card debt free

Jacoby

I’m exhausted of his bullshit, let’s be honest.

But with barely a day to go before mandatories, what do you guys think:

  1. Does Jacoby show up Monday morning?

  2. If he doesn’t, what does the team do?

Didn’t even make the connection

Our running backs coach was the RB coach at Miami. He had first hand daily work with Beck. Now that I remembered that, I feel way better about us drafting Beck, having had someone who was in the building with him every day in our building vouching.

Also people forget that prior to Beck’s elbow injury (similar to purdy’s), he was was QB1 in the 2025 draft and mocked to be a top 5 pick.

Now that he’s healthy, I think we really could have something. Love everything he’s said so far and they way he’s treated this whole process.

I‘m excited to see him in game. Looking forward to pre-season.

Top tier troll job

Lol the PHNX social team posted this today and they knew EXACTLY what they were doing and I am here for it. Almost makes up for the schedule release video.

Beck has a handshake with Bourne!

Jacoby is cooked.

Controversial or maybe not

I’m gonna say something: I don’t think Kurt Warner is the best Cardinals QB of all time. I think it’s Palmer. Much more dominant teams and people forget before Palmer blew his knee out, we probably would have made a deep run, possibly to the the NFC championship. That team was fantastic. And then they followed it up with 13-3 and in any other year, Palmer would have won the MVP. 2015 was the best season in team history. And that was after his Frankenstein knee surgery. He deserves much more credit in NFL lore. He quite possibly will be the only QB in history to throw for 40,000 or more yards and not get in the hall.

Sad stat: He’s the only Cardinals QB with a winning record. No joke.

u/Humble_Lie_4833 — 3 months ago

Could be worse

Just a reminder: this isn’t the most hopeless this team has ever been. Hang in there, bird gang.
