I’m just curious because there are some regulars that come in and spend $$$$ no matter who their server is, and they are always put in the her favorite’s section. She gives them more tables too, with the most “rich” looking people who come in. Parties marked as celebrations more likely to spend? …most often put in their section. Larger parties with no kids? In their section. Any tables with kids? Never in their section.

I’ve even seen this in action as she switches assigned table reservations in their section to a different party with the same reservation time behind them for apparently no other reason than they’re not dressed nicely, or worse- a certain stereotype.

It makes me so upset. But I have especially no control over it lately since they are now the front of house manager and any complaint about it would likely make the situation worse for me.

What do you do when others are consistently making about $50+ more per shift because of their section and you’ve got no say? If I work 4 days a week that’s at *least* $800 more per month if we’re on the same shifts.

Is this as normal as I assume it is and how do you guys deal with it? Especially if you are not one of their favorites? :(

Maybe it’s my sensitivity to injustice but seriously????! What would you do?
