A bunch of my neighbors and I discovered we were the recipients of some lovely artwork on our cars today. Mine was pretty mild compared to some of the other things spray painted on the neighbors’ cars.

Today I just ran my first half marathon race (I’ve done 13.1 a few times training) - 1:51:49.4 according to the chip, 1:49:47 according to GPS. It was a rainy and cool day here in Missoula, perfect for running and not so perfect waiting in line for a beer. Now it’s time to relax and recover and start working on training for the Leavenworth Marathon in October.

A friend of mine and I dared each other to start running last fall. We did a 10k over new years and are preparing for a half marathon in a couple of weeks and a marathon in October. Today I ran a 5k on a whim and did a lot better than I expected! 3rd place in Men’s 40-49 and 34th overall. 22:45.4.

Today I took the family and we rode the route of the Hiawatha in Montana and Idaho - it’s not super long but it’s a lovely ride. About 12 miles downhill and a ride to near the parking area. There are a bunch of tunnels and trestles. One piece of advice: go with fenders. The longer tunnels are full of mud!
