Diagnosing an Intermittent rattle

2006 Chevy Silverado. 4.8, 4l60e, 4wd.

Intermittent rattle that seems to be coming from under the cab, towards the motor. I notice it at slow speeds and when coming to a stop. Can’t hear if it’s happening at higher speeds.

Trans fluid is red and full, heat shields aren’t loose, front end suspension isn’t loose. No error codes with a full system scanner, all of the transmission solenoids are working properly, no issues shifting into any gears minus a long ish shift into 1st. The torque converter acts as it should under load and has normal load% when driving. Motor holds its rpms and doesn’t stutter or do anything it shouldn’t. Motor mounts and transmission mounts are in decent condition. Fans aren’t rubbing on the shroud, they spin freely with no play. 4wd works fine, both front wheel
Bearings are relatively new, cv axles look good.

Has anyone dealt with something similar to this? Could the torque converter be starting to go out?

I’d really like to pinpoint the cause before I blow a ton of money firing the parts cannon.

My beetle has a decent amount of bubbling on the rear where the death foam sits. I’m planning on cutting it out and removing the foam in the coming summer months.

Any tips for fabricating the new panels?

My beetle sits outside as I don’t have a garage to put it in, so I’d like to cut it out and repair it as fast as possible.
