DAE meticulously go through the Settings of a new device?
As soon as I finish setting up I delete any preinstalled apps I won't use and then settings to see if I missed anything and optimize the phone/PC as quickly as possible.

Mods/file edits that increase render distance?
Capped at 10 after the mountain update cus im on an older android tablet(nougat) but im confident it can run 16-20 like it did before. Is there a way to change this?
