Sooo it all started just today, and I blocked this person., I was on Tumblr, drawing and doing free commissions.

Until I came across this random on the internet.

Since this community doesn't allow to share screenshots of our chats before I blocked this person, I'll have to show you through my writing:

Random: Commissions Open?

Me: Sure, what do you want me to draw?

Random: if you don't mind me sending you the reference picture for the commission

Me: Sure

Me: When is the deadline?

Random: (Shows me a reference picture of a blond lady)

Random: I want her to be drawn exactly she was posed there with a simple background.

Random: The deadline is July 5

Me: got it bro 👍

Random: how much do you charge?

Me: Since my parents didn't allow me to have online money, let's just say it's free :/

Random: it's fine, you could easily sign up an account with PayPal I believe it works everywhere

Me: I would, but my parents wouldn't even allow that, not even my older siblings.

Me: it will be fine th

Me: *tho

Me: I'll try my best to draw the pic in my art style

Random: you won't inform them until you're done with creating the account and receive the money

Random: I'm willing to pay you

Me: I'll be fine without the money dude don't worry abt me.

After that, I drew what I had with the reference photo for two or three hours.

Then I posted it to them on the dms

Me: Hey dude I finally finished it, it took me like three or two hours ok it, yeah :3

(it was supposed to be "on it" but I made a typo but let's continue on with the story)

Me: is it okay if I post it?

Me: what do you think?

Random: Wow🤩

Random: awesome 👏

Random: Don't post it, kindly sign up and account with PayPal to compensate you with 50 dollars for the great work

Me: Nahhh I don't need it.

Me: I'm grateful for it though

Me: I'm glad you like it

Me: thanks

Random: alright 👍 if you don't mind me saying this.

Me: I don't mind

Random: Well I appreciate us being good friends honesty and truthful to eachother although we just knew eachother,,,, we can share ideas and discuss about more issues as we talk more about ourselves, and as time goes on there may be something great for us in the future. What do you say?

I was slightly uncomfortable about this, especially since I just met this person, but I didn't wanna be mean at the time, so I tried to politely turn them down:

Me: I'd like to keep it professional tbh if that's ok with you, as you said, we just met. I am very sorry if I disappointed you :(

Random: alright, it's if you don't mind me asking here you are located?

Me: No

And without a beat, I literally blocked them

Soooooo yeah am I the asshole in this situation ?

Edit: Remember when I said in the comment section that I won't fall for that shit again??? I hate empathy because not after I did all that.

I almost got scammed again.

This time, it happened after I posted this story on Tumblr talked about my woes. Screenshots and all, and then someone on my comment section said:

"Sorry for hitting you up outta nowhere but I gotta talk to you about something important. Idk but I cannot reach you out pls dm me when you're free."

So my dumbass said " I didn't learn a thing about what happened hours ago!!" And dm'd them🫩 So what happened was this person told me that they accidentally reported me because someone scammed and pretended to be me, so now I have to talk to the staff of Tumblr on discord they even gave me a ticket.

Luckily I didn't know how discord tickets work, and so I went Reddit and ran into a post in where it talks about Tumblr and the fraud-scam problem and how to avoid it or when you're already scammed, how to deal with the issue.

The scam is literally about someone saying they "accidentally" reported you and that you need to go to the discord of Tumblr and they gave you a ticket and then they scam you..

Luckily after I ran into that post, I blocked the person who said they accidentally reported me. At this point I'm so done with this shit bro I need to stop lacking like this😭😭😭😭

Thank God I didn't even go to that "discord" thingy because I could've lost money I never had lol
