How have you logged the books you read during childhood?

Specifically, I’m trying to find a good method for even knowing what books I read as a kid. It would be difficult to find all those books, of course, but I’m hoping I can at least find some of them.

I’m not above combing through publishing-by-year Wikipedia pages or other long book lists if that’s what I have to do, but I’m not quite sure where a good place to start would be.

What methods have you used to rediscover and log your childhood reads?

Can we talk about the post meta on this sub?

For a couple months now, I’ve been questioning whether or not most contributors here actually understand that MAL is a specific site on which users track anime, and not just a name for this sub that implies lists and graphics about their favorites.

With all the Topsters, TierMakers, and “Anime About” posts here, it’s fair to say that this sub has been accidentally hijacked by people who just don’t know any better.

Yeah, it’s easy to see that the sub name is a bit misleading for those who don’t know about MAL, and this topic deserves some kind of action (or at least acknowledgement) from the mods.

To be clear, this isn’t an “always has been” situation. This post meta began after the “Anime About” trend took off and subsequently overstayed its welcome. Most users who post these graphics don’t have a user flair or even a post history that suggests they were on this sub before the advent of the trend.

What say you MAL users? Is this not as big of a deal as I’m making it out to be? Should we hope for some kind of action from the mods here? Discuss.
