Does Anybody Else Dislike MMA Wrestling?

Hello,

I'm 24 and have been training MMA on and off since I was 19. I recently came to the realization with my past 2 gyms, that I always hated learning MMA wrestling.

I dislike it because I feel like I should learn how to wrestle regularly before adding in everything else. When I try to learn wrestling with all of it combined, it becomes really hard to focus on each aspect.

I also feel like MMA wrestling doesn't really teach pins or any ground game stuff from wrestling and it's always just takedowns and the punches.

I also dislike how most MMA wrestling coaches are people with backgrounds in wrestling at school or college. I just don't feel like they are qualified to teach MMA wrestling. Everytime they teach MMA wrestling, the material is always never as high of quality as just teaching regular wrestling.

It's kind of like going to a boxing class and they are adding in takedowns with it. I would rather put it all together myself. I also never did wrestling growing up, but I love wrestling.

Do you guys agree with this or no?

Do You Think BJJ Is Turning Into The Next Karate?

Hello,

I recently thought about this recently with my last gym and the lack of standup. No high intensity rolls and etc. I recently thought about BJJ turning into the next karate and I honestly believe this is true.

Like guard pulling is rampant in BJJ and BJJ tournaments. Most BJJ gyms are sport BJJ gyms and the punches have been taken out (vale tudo doesn't count at your gym since those are light taps).

I just feel like BJJ is going to start turning into a joke of a martial art.

Is The Dagestani Leg Lace Good Or Bad?

So I was doing half guard work and I was able to get the position that khabib was in and trying to copy this. I would have my legs entangled with my opponents upper thighs and I would basically sit on his legs.

The coach (black belt and former coach) told me this was bad and I should abandon it for mount. When I watch khabib he likes to hang out in this position and smash people here.

What do you guys think?

Edit: My legs would wrap around the bottom partners legs after I got out of his half guard. I had both of my bottom partners legs wrapped around my legs where I'm on top and I was sitting on his upper thighs

What's With BJJ Guys Never Doing Wrestling Or Judo?

So, I've been training for a year and a half in BJJ with judo and wrestling and MMA in general. I noticed with BJJ people they never do standup classes.

Like I have met coaches who have barely any knowledge with standup and admitted having bad standup. I've talked to a lot of the BJJ guys and it seems like they skip those classes because they believe BJJ is the superior martial art, which I believe is ridiculous.

Do you guys don't take the wrestling or judo classes at your gym and why?

Coaches: Have You Ever Wished A Student Stopped Training?

I was wondering about this the other day. I wonder if coaches wished that some of their students or a student stopped training. Or do you guys hope the student continues to train?

Do I Have Higher Order Abberations?

Hello,

I recently went to the optometrist and I went to go get contacts to see if it will help with night vision driving with lights. When I wear glasses and contacts even with them correcting the astigatism, the lights are still stretched like a mother fucker. The optometrist told me nothing is wrong and the glasses should fix it. He had no response when I told them all of my glasses does not fix the issue.

I got contacts to see if it will help and they did not. I recently put it through AI and I figured out about this condition and possibly, cataracts. Who do I go to to get them diagnosed?

These pictures are the most accurate thing I see even with glasses and contacts at night. The glasses do pretty much nothing to fix the issue I have with car lights and other lights in general. Every time I drive at night, it's really hard to determine the distance where the car is and the lights always bind me.

Does anybody know what this can be and why the glasses and contacts aren't helping at all even with the correction to astigmatism? Who do I go to? Opthlomagist?

Edit: I also noticed depending on the angle, the lights don't look like this at the side of the light.

In A Pure BJJ Match In Same Weight Class and Age, Who's Winning: Islam Makachev Or Royce Gracie

I have been thinking about this recently and more I learned about the backstory of BJJ and how it was tied to UFC. I became more skeptical. I also learned about the Gracies would roll with judo guys used to get tapped out by them. I recently thought about this fight. Islam is a judo guy and has never trained BJJ a day in his life but consistently taps out high level BJJ guys. I have a strong feeling Islam is winning this BJJ Match.
