Letts’ response to Harlan County USA being selected is 10/10; chef’s kiss, no notes…

“Fuck you and the horse you fucked” will now enter the ways I express frustration.

Some pics from last night

Meant to take more pics (but also knew we had out in-house photog there), but the night was a wonderful evening (with a lot of stress from a production angle) so the phone didn’t come out as much as it should have.

Everyone I met was awesome. Wonks rule.

First time watcher- How often should I be pondering the meta narratives?

Hello, friends. Watching for the first time. I am about to watch the finale of season 10, but made the promise to the people who told me to start watching that I would not watch it without them- I am going in blind and they want to see my reaction.

In the chats I have had about the show, I find myself being less interested in what is happening in the show and more interested in what it all means in a grander scale. There are two questions that I specifically think about a lot. One is very specific and the other is much more vague. So we’ll start with the first.

How much sway do you think Bravo has/had on the staffing decisions at all of the restaurants? I cannot possibly imagine Lisa continuing to give James chance after chance after chance if there was not a network person in her ear saying, “Hey, this dude is good ratings. It makes sense to keep him around as much as you can, despite how he makes many of your staff feel.”

My larger question is this: How much do you think the fact that this cast is on television affects how they act and react in any given scenario? There are people who, clearly, love being on television and are fighting desperately to make sure that never stops (Sandoval, Lala, Jax, Schaena). But because that is so apparent, I find myself viewing every action they make under the question of, “Is this something this person would really do? Or are they just doing it because it feel like good television?”

Maybe I’m taking this all too seriously. And maybe I’ll stop watching at some point. I guess I’m just curious if anyone else has these thoughts when watching.

Last note about tomorrow’s show…

Last thing about the show tomorrow:

So, the final show is expected to run from 8:30-10. I imagine after the show, there will be a massive hangout/gathering/party at Two Brothers. That will not be ticketed. So, if you’re not doing anything tomorrow night and just want a wonk hang, you are more than welcome to come on out.

Looking forward to seeing some of you tomorrow.

(I’ll also be taking a lot of pics and posting them on the account for my show, Still Not Friday. That is @snfcomedy on Instagram).

For those attending Saturday’s show…

(A message courtesy of Two Brothers Brewing and Still Not Friday)

As SNF and Two Brothers are preparing the room for Saturday. we have a quick favor to ask. If you bought tickets and would like to sit with another group, please email snfcomedy@gmail.com.

Table seating will be very limited (the Tavern showroom is very intimate, which guarantees everyone will have an amazing view) and we want to make sure everyone who wants to sit together can do so.
