Sunset
Today’s sunset was radiant and breathtaking ❤️😍 Got there a little late, but still able to capture some of the beauty.
Ossining fireworks
This is our first July 4th in Ossining.
Is there any other spot from where you can enjoy Ossining fireworks scheduled this week at Louis Engel Waterfront Park without crowd? How’s parking situation by train station? How early one should go? We don’t want to get stuck in traffic for hours with kids in this heat.
Edit: Thank You all.
Should I invest or keep cash until find new job?
Couple in late 40’s, no kids.
Monthly payment including mortgage, taxes, HOA and utilities are $2600. No auto loan: both car paid off Internet: $40 Phone bill for both: $50 Student loan: $600 (trying to pay as early as possible. So we set up that way). Grocery: Around $500 We don’t eat out (usually once a month). We mostly cook at home. Streaming subscriptions: $5 a month plus Amazon Prime membership.
Auto insurance: $1500-$1700 for 6 months (pay onetime to get some discount). Home insurance: $1400 a year.
Husband’s take home pay is around $6k after tax/401k and HSA contribution. My take home pay was around $4k, but I got laid off in January and couldn’t find a job yet.
He has around $200k in retirement (401k and Roth). I have around $150k in retirement (401k and Roth).
My question is we have one year of total monthly expense in HYSA that is around $40k plus $10k for Insurance and other unexpected maintenance. Plus I got severance, a one year of salary that we put in HYSA for now. His salary covers our monthly expenses right now. Should we invest my severance considering we have emergency fund. Or we should wait it out until I find a job, and then invest it.
What are other good options for us to invest my severance instead of HYSA?
