Fwahaha… Kris, do you remember when you ruined our festival?
The festival… it's a special day, but it was supposed to be our day. Do you remember, Kris? Back in Cyber City… you told me I'd ride the Ferris wheel with you. It was our chance to do… something crazy. To show this stupid town how strong we've become. They tried to ignore the new you… the new me… the new us… but not anymore!
I took your hands and led you to the Ferris wheel. We got on and rode it to the top. I opened the window and stood on the ledge… with you, Kris.
There we were… way up high, in the sky… We could see past the trees from up there. They couldn't hold us back anymore. We could look down at the ants below. They were so small… so weak. Ants are stuck in their stupid hills, but us? We could go anywhere. We could squish them… freeze them. All you had to do was tell me to proceed and they'd all see us fly… fly far, far away from here.
I closed my eyes and smiled. I smiled, Kris! I felt the cold wind surround us on the ledge. It made me shiver. It froze the tears falling down my face. It felt so good!
The old Noelle could never spread her wings. She was too tied down to the ground… but you made me feel strong the other day. You made me truly smile for the first time… but it faded. You didn't say anything… you just looked down and trembled.
The Ferris wheel started to move again and I panicked. My throat hurt from how loud I begged you. My arms hurt from how hard I shook you. My heart hurt from how much freedom was slipping away from us… it hurt so much… I pried your mouth open and put my ear closer to hear you say that beautiful word. I needed to hear it… even just a whisper! You told me to proceed so many times… why couldn't I hear it now? Why were you hesitating?!
The Ferris wheel came down to Earth… and so did we. You brought us back to everyone else's level. My tears… they were liquid. They weren't snow or hail… they were just water.
Why did you melt the ice, Kris… our ice? The ice you worked so hard to make me freeze?
Didn't you want me to become stronger, Kris? Didn't you want me to be happy?
