Can't stop thinking about this spicy fish & tripe dish I had!

I had this at an amazing local spot! I've been here a few times now and it never disappoints. It's boiled snakehead fish slices with beef tripe. It's super spicy with tons of chili, and packed with lots of great extras like wood ear mushrooms, tofu skin, and cucumber. So good!

A classic coastal home-cooked dish

I made scrambled eggs with oysters for the first time, and it turned out great! It's so delicious—both the oysters and the eggs are incredibly fresh and tender. This is a very common home-cooked dish in coastal cities, and it was my first time trying to make it.

She measured time in pages. Half an hour, to her, meant ten pages read, or fourteen, depending on the size of the type, and when you think of time in this way there isn’t time for anything else. ― Zadie Smith --Swing Time

Got a very aggressive doubles partner, but struggling to play with her...

clip

She is a very strong player, i‘m not sure what the problem is, but she got great wrist action, flat drives and smash is really hard to handle, i'd say her shots are faster than anyone else in our group, but also with a lot unforced errors. i don't know what to do when partnering with her, I feel like I'm getting in her way.also, i'm a bit of worried about getting hurt.

What level would you rate this female player? (Clean highlights from a 10-min game)

I'm the player wearing all black with white shoes and short hair. Any advice is welcome! (I'm really happy that I got several nice backhand shots in there though haha)

I tried my best to edit the video. The full play was about 10 mins, but I cut down the dead time from rally to rally. I like my clips clean and worth replaying. also, save your time to watch.

Funny enough, I found that only 2 mins out of the 10 could be merged into this so-called highlight reel. Each rally lasted about 10 seconds. I even checked the rally times, and the longest one was only 17.6 seconds. I'd say all 4 of us made a lot of mistakes... definitely a lot to improve.

What career sounds amazing but is secretly a nightmare?

My buddy got a job as a Video Game QA Tester right out of college. We were all super jealous. I mean, getting paid to play games all day? Hell yeah.

Turns out, it was an absolute nightmare.

He wasn’t actually "playing" anything. His job was literally walking into the same wall for 8 hours straight. Just checking every single rock and door to see if the game would glitch.

One week, he did nothing but jump on a digital barrel. Over and over.

The pay was garbage. The crunch hours were brutal (like 80-hour weeks). And if a bug slipped into the final release? Management always blamed QA first.

He quit after a year and a half. He hasn't touched a video game since. The "dream job" totally ruined his favorite hobby.

Here's to the crazy ones.

“Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
