Night Watchman's Torch

It looks like the "Night Watchman's Torch" is an item you loot from the corpses of patrol guards that spawn in various areas; is there something similar available in Horde territory? I’d love to carry one around at night, too—visibility is really poor when traveling after dark.

Spouse of a teacher looking for advice after a non renewal

Hi all. I come in peace as not an educator, but as a stressed out and frustrated spouse who has no idea how to navigate this.

My spouse has taught public elementary school for a long time across a few different districts. Recently they were not renewed at their school, officially due to enrollment declines, though the cuts did not line up cleanly with which positions were actually reduced. Their grade level was not cut, yet they were the one not renewed and replaced by a teacher from the grade that was reduced. They were not on a performance plan or any disciplinary plan. In the contrary, my spouse was recognized for their teaching and were even given money to spend on their classroom as part of that recognition last school year.

Since then my spouse has applied to multiple openings in the same district and been rejected from all of them with generic emails. Their former principal had offered to be a reference. They then learned through HR that this principal has been telling other schools they were "not a good fit" when checking the principal as a reference despite having no performance issues or improvement plan on record.

My spouse want to keep teaching in this area, and it pains me every day that they continue to be treated like this. I'm thinking of pushing my spouse to request their personnel file, contact the union, and possibly consult an employment attorney.

I'm even afraid my spouse is spiraling into depression as they have no idea what other career fields to transition to.

Has anyone been through something like this? What actually helped, and what would you avoid doing? Any advice on job searching when a former administrator may be quietly working against you would also be appreciated.
