This is very inconsequential but... why are they always hugging? It feels like when the writers didn't know how to end a scene, they'd throw "they all hug" in the script and move on. I've never seen a show with so much hugging in my life.
I was looking at aro content today (primarily aroallo) because I've been coming to terms with the fact that that's what I am recently. To my recollection, I have never questioned being aromantic before.
Apparently, my memory has failed me. As I was scrolling through youtube, I saw that I had watched literally all the videos from 3 years ago. I go on tiktok and start scrolling. I get to a few videos from 2023 and open the comment section to see MY OWN COMMENTS. Still, I don't think I ended up identifying as aromantic, but it's reassuring to me to know that the inklings were there. It makes me more comfortable identifying as aroallo because I know the feeling isn't new.
Seeing the video of those teenagers struggling to read silhouette, extraordinary, and gauche made it click into place that so many people are diehard swifties because they’re unintelligent. Of course she seems like an intellectual to people who don't know basic words!
Part of the equation is the lack of critical thinking skills. If people don't possess the ability to look deeper into things, they're not going to question the narratives she feeds them, nor will they see the lies that compose her image. They're not going to examine the societal structures that got her where she is, and may even believe that she's a victim to them. When she cries misogyny, it distracts from the fact that she ultimately still benefits from being conventionally attractive, rich, white, cishet, able-bodied, etc. This is why she gets away with her recent albums being composed entirely of non sequiturs, word vomit, and stolen tiktok quotes.
This is further reinforced in my mind by the fact that almost every time I have an argument with swifties (often over silly things, like me saying I don’t think she’s the GOAT songwriter people claim she is), their grammar is horrendous. Multiple of them have told me to “stop using big words to sound smart” (the most recent word in question was “infer”). Obviously someone with such a limited vocabulary would think her abuse of thesauruses makes her super deep and intelligent.
TL;DR: Swifties should read more
