Day after thoughts?

What are your thoughts now the initial anger / disappointment has worn off?

Defence & GK: still some serious concerns here, be paid £500k for a new GK, I can’t imagine that was for a backup.

We need a LB and personally I would really like a RB who’s a bit faster/ more attacking and let Devlin play in midfield

Midfield: Shein looks really tidy and will partner well with Adam’s, not sure we have much depth in that position

Sega isn’t a creative threat at 10 but provides a better goal threat it will be interesting to see if we lack creativity

Brooke-Smith doesn’t look ready, and I’m sure he wasn’t brought in to be a starter

Bishop, sigh, his link up play and effort was really good again, but he never looks like scoring, I would personally like to see him in a 442 with Marezi

Mou: I feel like once again he was too slow to react, playing 30 minutes at 3-1 down before changing the shape was frustrating

Overall I think the squad looks stronger this year, but with so many new players it will take time to get them all at their best

Are we writing off the West Ham game?

I’m pretty happy with our recruitment so far this summer, however, if feels like the start of the season has come weeks too early.

We have only had a couple of competitive friendlys

Our new star ST hasn’t played at all, we have a few injuries

I think we will still sign another 4/5 players, if that’s the case we are going into the QPR game with a group of players who will be unfamiliar with each other.

I think overall we will have a much better squad this year, but i worry how long it will take them to start performing together, it’s certainly going to be a new challenge for Mou

New to Civ 6 - what am I missing

I have never played a COV game before (or watched anybody play one) but always fancied giving it a go, I brought it in a steam sale a year ago, opened it once, decided it was too complicated and gave up

I have now played a few games, and whilst I enjoyed it, I felt like there was a lot of waiting around

The first game I played I was Rome and focused on military, was good fun and ended with a score victory, by the time I got bombers nobody could do anyting and the end if the game was just going round destroying everthing, fun but after bombers it was a bit boring as there was no challenge

Next I went for a science victory, got the first 2 objectives and won on points, ot felt like I spent a huge amount of turns doing noting and just skipping through waiting for stuff to happen

I then went for science, didn’t enjoy it and dropped that game early

Finally just completed a culture game, won in 500 on points, but again it felt like I was skipping and waiting for stuff to happen, towards the end I decided to bomb a few cities just for something to do.

Am i missing something that i should he doing during turns? Or is military the most active turn involvement?

Thanks
