need grade advice possible grade appeal
Hi guys, this semester i took Psych 2301 and the class was really easy, on discussions and test and everything else i never made anything below a 90 on anything, mid term, final anything. So there was this APA paper we had due on friday and due to my busy work schedule I had to work so much this weekend. I work at a fine dining restaurant about 50 mins from school, couldn’t get to it until sunday night. I was okay with taking some penalty for it being late. I emailed her sunday night when i submitted my paper, only to check my grades and see she had already gave me a 0 on it. I then again emailed monday afternoon, and I become more worried as she hadn’t answered all day. I go on her syllabus and I find her number and text her monday nigth, and she responds tuesday morning saying she already submitted grades sunday nigth. I know teachers had until Tuesday to submit their grades (my speech teacher told us) so I know she could have had some time. The thing is this was worth 10% of my final grade- getting a 0 on this brought my grade from a 96 to an 86 :/ I care a lot about my GPA- I had a 4.0 and i lost it due to this. I know she takes late work btw, i’ve submitted things late and she’s gave me full credit, and no where on her syllabus does she have anything about any penalty for late work or not taking it, no mention of this at all. So i’m wondering if I could get a grade appeal over this. I know it’s far fetched but my dream school is rice, so i’m worried this just blew my chances. If anyone knows how I can fix this or where I can appeal this or if I even have a case please let me know :/
