Pioneer tribal follow up question: Command cards from Lorwyn Eclipsed

Hey everyone, I've been thinking about which tribal deck to try in Pioneer and I think I might try a Lorwyn Eclipsed tribe- Kithkin, Merfolk, Elementals, Goblins, or Elves. In Eclipsed, there was a cycle of Command cards with Kindred typing. Could these cards work within a tribal deck? As mentioned, I want to bring a deck to fnm and have fun with the flavor and maybe score a few wins- not planning to win the night/doesn't need to be top8

Pioneer tribal

Hi all! I'm trying out Pioneer and I was hoping to get some advice. I love tribal decks, are there any tribal archetypes that see play in Pioneer? Doesn't have to be top8, just something that could win a match or two at fnm

Building Stoneblade: Optimal equipment package?

Legacy Stoneblade has had some interesting transformations over the years. Pre-Scars we had the two Mirran swords. Scars block brought us Batterskull. Then Modern Horizons delivered Kaldra Compleat. Today’s decklists seem to favor Pre-War Formalwear, Meteor Sword, and…Batterskull? I am very curious, why was Kaldra Compleat dropped, and why has there been a renewed push for Batterskull?

Why Lobstercon should include a Premodern 15-Card Highlander event

Did you know that 15-Card Highlander (15CH/FCH) is originally a Premodern era creation? When most people think of 15CH, their first thought goes to GB Nationals 2010 and 2011 where it was officially hosted for two years. But the origins of 15CH go back much further.

For starters, what is 15CH? 15CH is a format where players start with 20 life and 7 cards in their opening hand, except their deck must be 15 cards, all cards must be unique (except for basic lands), they get a 3-cards sideboard, and they do not lose if they run out of cards to draw. 15CH is an incredibly fast tactical format, with players relying on a reduced library.

So back to the history. Dan Barrett covered 15CH’s official play in 2010 and 2011 (and his SCG article is worth a read!). But 15CH was actually created a decade earlier by Stuart Cresswell in 2000. It was hosted at Gen Con UK 2000, and was designed as a speedy complementary event to be played in between rounds.

To honor MTG history, it would be really cool to see a Premodern 15CH side event at Lobstercon. More importantly, with the Premodern format now firmly established, I am sure we would see some interesting brews that were not even considered back in 2000.

What kind of deck would you build for Premodern 15CH?

We have Ral (Pox/Liliana of the Veil substitute), and we have Bandit’s Talent (Scroll/Rack substitute). Are there any other cards in standard that could help this brew?
