Canada may get more Asian and European sunscreens soon

I just wanted to share with you all this post that Health Canada made earlier in May. It seems like they are looking into opening the market to make it much easier for companies to sell products with currently unavailable UV filters in Canada because they have been used safely for decades in other regions (like the EU, LATAM, etc.). This modification to the law also will hopefully include similar medicated skincare products (like for acne) and other personal care items (like oral care and antiperspirants). Potentially the First American Sunscreen with Bemotrizinol/BEMT

Just to start, I am not American but I am a Canadian that lives in Canada. In Canada, most sunscreen products that are sold here are just imports from the US that get bilingual labelling in English and French. Earlier in the year, Blistex launched a reformulation of one of their older lip balms with SPF. Generally, I am not always interested to see what the active ingredients are, but I was shocked because it actually was formulated with Bemotrizinol and some of the other FDA approved filters (even at their maximum American percentages too!). It is very rare for an American company to modify any of their sunscreen products here for the Canadian market. Hardly anyone outside L'Oréal will bother to add Bemotrizinol or other non-American UV filters. If you visit Canada any time soon, I'd highly recommend that you try getting this lip balm. It is an elegant option and water-resistant. You may be able to get it online too, but I am not sure as I do not have an American address.

[Sun Care] Potentially the First American Sunscreen with BEMT/Parsol Shield?

New Lip Sunscreen Option (with BEMT/Parsol Shield!)

I thought that I might share this with you all, but it seems Blistex reformulated one of their older lip balm sunscreen. The product is called Ultra Protection and it now has been reformulated with 3% Avobenzone and 4% Bemotrizinol for extra UVA protection. The old formula wasn't broad-spectrum so this new update is definitely checking out. It has a small vanilla aroma/flavour to it without much of an SPF taste. It's also 80 minutes water-resistant. Perhaps this got launched because of BEMT being approved in the US a few days ago? I hope more American sunscreens launch with BEMT in them across the border :D
