Jeans are horrible right now

Probably a hot take, but I HATE the jeans and pants in stores right now. I’m a professor and can dress as casually as i like, and I just wanted one new pair of dark denim jeans for the semester. Everything on the racks is baggy and huge: flares, wide bootcut, bell bottoms, etc.

I wear band tshirts, jeans, docs, and blazers to work like it’s a uniform, and they’ll pry my slim cut, ankle, and skinny jeans from my cold dead hands. But I’ll guess I’ll have to go to EBay and other places like that to get them now.

There was so much variety on the racks up until this summer.

My friend adopted this barn kitty from my mom’s yesterday.

This is Polar Bear, and I’m so in love with her. I know she’s going to have a great life with my friend (who already has two other kitties from my mom’s barn), but she is the sweetest kitten I’ve ever known. I wanted so badly to keep her, but my mom is already taking care of four of my rescues (because I live with someone with an unpredictable dog). I spend a few days with them every week, and that’s when I got to know this lovely girl. She came running from anyplace on my mom’s property when I called her, she purred when I picked her up … just a wonderful baby. I’ve been teary all day. She was pure white and fluffy when she was a baby, so that’s how she ended up with the silly name, but it stuck.

I brought her in the house yesterday morning to keep her safe until my friend got there in late afternoon, and she was immediately comfortable inside. She ate, slept, snuggled with me, and never seemed to get anxious. It was so hard to give her away.

She is one of a kind.

I love them.

Two year old siblings (or cousins) from a very colorful litter of barn kittens at my mom’s. Two sister barn cats gave birth on the same day and raised a litter of 8 together. I fell in love with these two from the moment I saw them and brought them home.

The Four Seasons & Tina Fey

Don’t know how many of you have seen the tv show The Four Seasons on Netflix, but the writing in Season 2 is just so freakin’ good (I teach screenwriting, so I’m always interested in character development). There was a scene in episode 7 that made me start bawling on the treadmill. And I’m most definitely NOT prone to those kinds of reactions.

I’ve always known Tina Fey was a good writer, but she has a lock on Gen X in this show.

Cat chin acne

Anyone have a snowshoe with this issue? It got bad enough for me to take Teddy to a vet about it, and the vet gave him a steroid shot, and while it worked for months, I know that’s not a viable long-term solution. I’ve changed the feeding dishes, wiped his mouth regularly … nothing except the steroid put a dent in it. He hates the smell of the medicated wipes and it makes him scared of me, even with treats as rewards.

Jax’s Glow-Up

Jax was an abandoned barn kitten when my mom found him at about 4-5 weeks in November. She fed him with a dropper and he grew up to be this majestic beast. He’s going to be a big boy.
