Perfect Day Unlocked - Xanadu Sweater on the Needles

I learned to knit as a teenager, but didn't really do much more than hats, with lots of years of no knitting at all. But for some reason over Christmas this year, I decided to try to make my first jumper and fell in love. Garment making is such a game changer, I've learned so much, and knitting content on social media keeps me so inspired.

I've been knitting consistently for eight months now, absolutely the longest I've ever been consistent with a hobby, and this Xanadu jumper on the needles is making me so happy! The rainbow striping wool (West Yorkshire Spinners ColourLab DK Yarn - Shade: Technicolour) is the most joyful thing to work with.

Em to the 3rd's knitting podcast on my headphones, my kiddo out in the garage with her dad doing woodworking, my emotionally needy male cat furious he can't sit in my lap (IYKYK)... Like this hobby just give me so much joy and contentment, and I'm risking a DVT right now because I haven't uncurled from my spot on the couch or gotten out of my robe in two hours.

Raised Stripe Rows - Xanadu Pullover

Hey there!

I'm knitting the Xanadu Pullover by Kiddiwinksknits.

I'm very new to colourwork, even stripes, and knew I might have a problem with the white yarn being unstretchy cotton/acrylic paired with the rainbow yarn which is 100% unsuperwashed wool, much more elastic. The white rows are bubbling out, guessing they're being pulled by the row of white slip stitches over the 4 rows of wool colourwork.

I don't mind the bumpiness enough to frog but would like to learn before I do any other more intensive colourwork projects, is this bumpiness caused by the difference in yarns? or something else? and what could you do to prevent it in future?
