looking for a gaming laptop but afraid of issues

so im getting into college (computer science majour, ofc) and i am looking for a gaming lapotop kind of in budget. ive seen the lenovo loq laptops are faily affordable. but ive heard from a friend that they bought a lenovo loq laptop (i dont know the exact model) and it had issues with display flickering (as shown in the attached video), and they said that the laptop was replaced (or repaired) under warranty, but the same issue returned after 3 months, which makes me not wanna buy it, even tho being the most suitable for my budget.

trackpad stops working after bringing laptop out of sleep

so I've been using zorin for a while on my hp elitebook 840 g2 sideloaded with windows 11. I've had this bug irritate me that when I put my laptop to sleep by shutting it's lid down, and then raise it's lid after some time to bring it back up, the trackpad seems to js stop responding at all. no gestures, no normal pointing, no nothing. my laptop has two set of mouse clicks one at the bottom of trackpad and other above it. the bottom pair stops working but the upper one seems to be working. i also have that pointer in the keyboard thingy (which is famous in thinkpads) and that still seems to be working too. the workarounds for now is using an external mouse or restarting my system which sometimes is not possible cause of I had to restart it anyway I would've never put it into sleep and ks shifted it down. anyone help ?
