The severeity of my LOQ 15IAX9's situation

I posted a day ago on this sub about a POP sound while playing NMS. I took it to the unauthorised distributor where I bought the grey listed model from and their technician sent this picture to me. They are playing the "trying to fix" game, to finally quote me the price for a new MB. Can anyone identify the severity of the burn from the picture? Is it fixable? I am planning to turn down the offer for a new MB and take it to a soldering technician.

Tldr: A pop in the MB, burned through the MB. LOQ i5-12450HX.

NEW LOQ THERMAL THROTTLING

Hello, I just bought a loq 15IRX10 i7 13700hx 5050 a month ago and when I did the cinebench r20 test with the sensor monitor on it showed thermal throttling even when I put my laptop on flat surface and the back side lifted above, is it normal because I have played only two games on it (last of us and rdr2) and didn't feel the cpu throttling but the temps were always high as 80° to 95° I don't know what to do because i know for sure that vents can't get clogged with one month of use and the thermal paste must be new because it's the new 2025 model.

can anyone help me

Removing Windows for Linux on Lenovo LOQ — anyone else dealt with warranty concerns?

Hey everyone,

I got my Lenovo LOQ (i7-13645HX, RTX 4050, 16GB RAM) about two weeks ago. I'm a cybersecurity student and I've been running Kali Linux in VirtualBox so far, but I've decided I want to wipe Windows completely and run Linux as my primary OS. I'm just done with Windows at this point.

Before I do it, I wanted to check — has anyone here fully removed Windows from an LOQ and gone Linux-only? From what I've read on Lenovo's own forums, installing Linux doesn't void the hardware warranty (they only care if something's physically damaged inside), but Lenovo obviously won't support Linux-specific issues. Just want to hear real experiences: any driver headaches (Nvidia RTX 4050, Wi-Fi, etc.), dual GPU switching problems, or anything I should back up/prep before wiping Windows?

Levono LOQ vs Levono legion go

Which one is better for gaming in general? I don’t think I’ll be playing massive AAA games since I have my ps5 for that ( the LOQ is the RTX 3050 6gb but I might be able to get the 5050 but most likely not )

Almost thought my LOQ has Line Flickering in it's display

So You can look at the top of the screen, there are a bunch of lines flickering. At first I was convinced that my display may have gone bad and I have to get an ADP right away.

But actually this thing happened after I did something. I'll explain what I did so if someone does it too in future and searches about it, this post will pop up.

So, today I was thinking of getting some new wallpapers for my LOQ. I don't have wallpaper engine, I can buy one but I'm too penny-pinching guy for that. So, I just went on Google and tried quite a number of steam wallpaper engine workshop downloader softwares...

I found one of them actually working, so I downloaded some great wallpapers for free. I applied it, everything looked fine until I noticed these popping up. I was like what? Did I brick my display? How can I brick my display by doing such simple things?

Then I thought, is something happening because of the software and because of the wallpaper package? So, I immediately switched to my old wallpaper and stared at the screen for 5 mins without closing my eyes 😭

I didn't find a single line flicker yet. So, it indeed was a software issue. My wallpaper or that software wasn't doing much good with my display drivers.

My technical thoughts :

Is it because my graphics drivers can't keep up with the continuous render that's what there is a mismatch in monitor refresh rates or hardware acceleration conflicts with the OS probably?

Edit : Upon light research I found out that it's because the wallpaper engine (cracked) software had fps set to 30, where as my display was in 144hz, so I had to match it up in order to fix that issue. It's working fine now :)

I would still like to use those wallpapers, so if any of you knows what's the real issue then I'm happy to receive answers.

Lenovo LOQ 15ARP9 – CPU fan won't reach max 4800 RPM while GPU fan does. Is this normal?

Hi everyone,

I have a Lenovo LOQ 15ARP9 (Ryzen 7 7435HS + RTX 4050 Laptop GPU), and I noticed something odd about the fan behavior in Max Fan/Performance Mode.

The GPU fan reaches its maximum speed of 4800 RPM, but the CPU fan never goes beyond 4500 RPM, even though Max Fan is enabled.

Current readings:

  • CPU: 60°C, 8% utilization, 4500 RPM
  • GPU: 46°C, 11% utilization, 4800 RPM (max)

I've verified that 4800 RPM is the maximum fan speed, but only the GPU fan reaches it. The CPU fan seems to be capped at around 4500 RPM.

Has anyone with a LOQ 15ARP9 experienced the same behavior?

  • Is the CPU fan intentionally limited to around 4500 RPM by Lenovo's BIOS/EC?
  • Or should both fans be able to reach 4800 RPM in Max Fan mode?
  • Could this indicate an Embedded Controller (EC) firmware issue or a hardware problem?

I've attached a screenshot for reference. Any insights from other LOQ owners would be appreciated.

Lenovo LOQ i7-13700HX + RTX 5060 suddenly died - No charging light, won't power on

Hi everyone,

My Lenovo LOQ (i7-13700HX + RTX 5060) suddenly stopped working today.

Here's what happened:

The laptop was ON when it happened.

It suddenly shut down and now it won't turn on at all.

The charging LED doesn't light up when I connect the charger.

I checked the charger connection multiple times.

The charger and laptop are both cool now, although when I first plugged it back in I could feel a very slight electrical sensation on the metal part near the connector.

There was no burning smell, smoke, or unusual noise.

The laptop is only a few days old and is still under warranty.

Things I've already tried:

Holding the power button for 30-60 seconds.

Disconnecting and reconnecting the charger.

Trying different wall outlets.

Nothing has worked so far.

Has anyone experienced this with a Lenovo LOQ? Does this sound like a motherboard failure, charging circuit issue, or could it simply be a faulty AC adapter?

I'm planning to claim warranty, but I'd like to know if anyone has had a similar experience and what the final diagnosis was.

Thanks!

Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9 (i5-12450HX + RTX 4050) – Is this performance normal?

TL;DR: Bought a Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9 (i5-12450HX + RTX 4050) in December 2025. Since day one I’ve had poor and inconsistent performance (Elden Ring ~40–50 FPS, Dota 2 drops to 20–30 FPS, occasional Windows stuttering). The laptop is plugged in, set to Performance Mode, has fresh Windows and the latest drivers. Is this normal for this model, or does it sound like a hardware defect? Should I try to return it or file a warranty/reclamation claim?
______________________________________________
Hi everyone,
I own a Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9 with the following specs:
Intel Core i5-12450HX
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 6GB (105W TGP)
24GB DDR5 RAM
512GB NVMe SSD
Windows 11
1080p 144Hz display

I bought this laptop in December 2025.
Since the beginning, I’ve experienced inconsistent performance in games, but I didn’t think much of it because I’m not very familiar with gaming laptops. Recently, someone with more experience pointed out that the performance seems much lower than what this hardware should normally deliver.

The laptop is always plugged in while gaming, Lenovo Vantage is set to Performance Mode, Windows power mode is set to Best Performance, and I’m using the latest NVIDIA drivers. I have also reinstalled Windows from scratch, but the issue remains.

Some examples:
Elden Ring usually runs at around 40-50 FPS at 1080p.
Dota 2 sometimes drops to 20-30 FPS, even on the lowest settings.
I also experience occasional stuttering during normal Windows use (desktop, web browser, etc.).

I’m wondering if this is normal for this model or if my laptop might have a hardware problem.
If you own the same Lenovo LOQ (or a similar laptop with an i5-12450HX and RTX 4050), could you share:
your FPS in Elden Ring,
your Dota 2 performance,
your CPU/GPU temperatures while gaming?

Also, based on these symptoms, do you think I should try to return or warranty-claim the laptop, or is this performance still considered normal for this model?

I’d really appreciate it.

Laptop sound suddenly emits random buzzing/crackling sounds when playing an audio

So my loq suddenly make these random buzzing sound when playing an audio whether if its music or videos. Before this doesn't happen but then these past few weeks it happened. I don't know what causes this, if you guys know any solution it help. I managed to capture the sound one time only since it is random. I also tried uninstalling realtek audio driver and restarted but it still happening. Another thing is that when i open any game on the background wether if its roblox or any steam game, the sound doesn't occur. Any fix for this?

Lenovo loq returned

I just returned my lenovo loq open box excellent this morning due to keyboard not working. I got really pressured when the guy at best buy asked me what i wanted to exchange it to (totally not the fault of best buy its me who is the problem) and decied to get HP victus without searching about it. I am now reading lots of bad reviews regarding hp victus. My question is should i keep hp victus or buy another NEW lenovo loq or Asus tuf. I only do casual gaming (like fabledom) and I keep my laptop on my desk table. I dont think I would take it anywhere. Anybody help me decide please.

I dont have any idea regarding gaming laptops. The open box lenovo loq is the first one i bought. I also won’t use it heavily. I am just looking for suggestions on what to choose between hp victus, lenovo low, and asus tuf in regards to hardware and software longevity. Thank you 😊
