Gym Bros with Tennis Elbow, I Need Your Advice

Hey everyone,

I'm a 30M dealing with tennis elbow and I've been doing physical therapy for 3 weeks now. The sharp pain is mostly gone and it's now more of a dull ache, so I think I'm making progress.

I've stopped going to the gym for the past 2 weeks and also decided to stop working with my coach because I felt my program wasn't being adjusted for my injury anymore.

Once I finish PT, I want to get back to the gym, but only to maintain muscle, lose fat, and train legs/core without aggravating my elbow.

For those who've recovered from tennis elbow (or any physios here), how did you return to lifting? What exercises did you avoid, and what helped you recover while still staying active?

I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Recovering From Tennis Elbow—Am I Rushing My Return to the Gym?

Hi everyone,

I'm a 30M who's currently 3 weeks into PT for tennis elbow. Thankfully, the sharp pain has improved and it's now mostly a dull ache.

I've completely stopped going to the gym for the past two weeks and also decided to stop working with my coach because I felt my training wasn't being adjusted to my injury. I want to finish PT first, then ease back into lifting with a program that won't aggravate my elbow.

My goal isn't to build muscle right now—just to maintain what I have, continue losing fat, and focus on lower body and core while my elbow recovers.

For the physiotherapists and anyone who's successfully recovered from tennis elbow:

How would you recommend returning to the gym?

Are there movements I should avoid completely at first?

Should I wait until I'm 100% pain-free before resuming upper-body exercises, or is some mild discomfort acceptable?

I'd really appreciate any advice or evidence-based recommendations. Thank you!

Best Running Backpack for Bigger Guys?

Getting back into running and looking for backpack recommendations.

I need something comfortable enough to jog in while carrying just the essentials: wallet, phone, keys, and maybe a light shirt to change into after.

I was looking at Inoxto, but it seems better suited for smaller frames. I have broader shoulders and a bigger build, so I'd love to hear other suggestions. Links are welcome. Thanks!
