This game is phenomenal almost locking 100 hours on playtime(at least 30 hours of it was probably spent on just optimizing my team lol) and I’m probably gonna beat the game this session.
This is the first Webnovel I have fully invested in and idk how I only decided to read this recently, if someone pitch me that this is basically what dark souls in a novel form would be, I would have read this much sooner lol.
Speaking of dark souls, reading the forgotten shore was one of the most mesmerizing and out of the world experience I had consuming a story. You could feel the intensity from every chapter and the dark and suffocating yet beautiful ambiance was what reminded the most of dark souls despite the very obvious references like Cassie herself, soul shard, and some of the monster descriptions. It was the feeling of exploring the catacombs in dark souls 3, sometimes you mask the beauty in its beauty like in Majula, and sometimes even the harrowing and impossible challenges in Blighttown, it was that feeling when I read it that made it special to me.
It’s one of the best and most of engrossing arc I have ever consumed. Even 2500+ chapters by now I still miss the feeling when I read forgotten shore, that’s not to say other arcs have not been good, Antarctica arc was the one that made me cry the most multiple times, and I so badly wanted to hug Sunny in that arc. One thing I was disappointed after forgotten shore though was Nephis as a character, her presence in forgotten shore was so overpowering and fierce mostly because she was just so much bat shit broken than everybody else, it made her so memorable!
Forgotten Shore Nephis was HIM! Or HER! Probably my favorite character in the series, closely followed by the Devil of Antarctica.
After taking a break finally decided to get the ending. Got really burned out after playing 300+ hours on early access lol
