Hot guys of reddit, have you ever been down bad for someone less aesthetically attractive than you?

To be clear, I don’t need a pep talk. This post is purely inspired by my homegirl (don’t come at me ladies - she is a very natural Euro *beauty* just not a Instagram/Gen Z style/pop culture beauty fyi). But what she did do is manage to land her *that guy*, 6’5 social media adored, Mr Model house mate just by being her autistic ADHD self: being the smartest, most interesting person in the room, and then absolutely sledging him with brutal banter for 6 months. Dude was so down bad for her that his whole social group apparently knew about his crush before she even did - which is very on brand for her but also my favourite detail possibly ever.

We live on the Gold Coast Australia, which is A SCENE for the influencer, reality TV crowd. Which old mate does fall into. But it would appear that no matter how thin/fit/attractive you are, it’s what’s inside that counts \[*cue Mr Roger’s theme song\]*

Anyway, I love their little “how we met” story, pestered her silly for details for the last month and officially mined that well dry. But I did start wondering if it was actually that much of an anomaly, or are the Hallmark cliche’s true (e.g the suntanned popular male model actually does find the brainy/nerdy brunette who isn’t falling all over herself to get him secretly really, really attractive?)

So, resident smoke shows of Reddit, has this happened to anyone else? Talk me through the male psychology here, fellas. I am sat and fascinated (and yep - would love to repeat HG’s surprise result)

Stage 1 Prolapse, Sex and Trauma

I have a few questions, and really hoping for some honest answers.

TW: Sexual Assault

Two years ago, I experienced a very brutal sexual assault. (Longterm therapy commenced 2 months after the event and still going strong, so don’t worry).

After that event, I noticed some immediate differences in my anatomy. But I had so much else going on, it was the least of my worries.

However it’s stuck around, and I’m having to accept I have a stage 1 vault prolapse. I haven’t been diagnosed, but I work in work in medical healthcare so I know anatomy.

Admittedly, my GP (who is an amazing woman) never said anything at my papsmear. But this was my first since the assault, and my first with her so I do wonder if she just sat on that news to spare me, since it’s relatively minor and I don’t have any urinary symptoms with it.

But I think the origin of it is making the emotional and mental impact hitting doubly hard. Sex is something I already know I/will struggle with - and now it just feels like I might as well not even bother.
I know the literature recommends waiting until a woman has completed her family before considering sarco’ surgery. But I just feel so beside myself to have experienced this at this point in my life.

For the husbands in the thread: does sex feel different and even joyable for you if your partner has a prolapse?

For the women: how has sex been impacted if you have a Stage 1 VVP? Do you find sex has made it worse? Did it get worse during pregnancy? (I’ll be a prescribed cesarean if I ever get to that point, but just wondering what the experience of actual pregnancy was like on it/sensation). Has it ever been completely “fixed” outside of surgery - and if so, what did you do?

I guess I’m just feeling like a broken thing - now on the outside as well as on the inside.

Viral hotel with free crafts and ramen?!

Looking for the name of the somewhat viral budget accomodation in either Kyoto or Osaka that offered free ramen, matcha (I believe so…) and importantly had a weekly itinerary of activities and crafts for guests. I recall one of the activities was hair pinning. I’m almost certain it was recommended to me on Reddit but I can’t find it now!
